WT189 Joy!

Today I was suppose to clean the disaster in my stamp room.  Did it get done -- nope!  Instead I used some of the leftover scraps to make a card for the WT189 challenge -- Just One.  The focus of the challenge was to find ways to use just one word on your design.  I decided to use the 'one word' as the main theme --very easy and much more fun than cleaning!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Stamp Simply #58 - This One's for Paula!

Have you ever cringed when you paid the postage for your Christmas cards?  Well, this challenge is for you!  Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge #58 is to Make It Flat!  That's right - no lumps, bumps or humps - that will add extra postage!

I got the best surprise the other day.  My niece, Paula, mailed me a new (never used) set of Bear Necessities.  Isn't this image the cutest!  I kept things pretty simple (perfect for the challenge) so nothing would take away from my Beary image.  The bears were colored with a VersaMark pen and highlighted with alcohol markers and a white pastel pencil.  The image was then clear embossed and embellished with a clear Stardust pen, Dazzling Diamonds, and diamond dot stickers.   Thanks, Paula!
Supplies: Stamps - SU! Bear Necessities (retired); Paper - creamy caramel, riding hood red, whisper white, SU! DP; Ink - Versafine antique sepia, VersaMarker pen, white pastel pencil, Copic & Prismacolor makers;  Accessories - SU! Top Note RAK from Vera, Nestibilities, clear EP, Stampendous diamond dots and SU! Dazzling Diamonds.

Here are the images included in the set: All you have to do to enter to win this set is leave a comment by Tuesday, October 28. I will post the winner on Wednesday evening, October 29.   I would also appreciate your checking out my niece's cards (posted below) and, if you have time, please leave her a comment.  Thanks!

Happy Mail from Donna!

I just had to share these cards! They were made by my niece, Donna. She sent the butterfly card for our anniversary and the birthday card to my husband, Tad. Thanks so much Donna! I told Donna that she really needs to start a blog to share her work and/or start a gallery on SCS. Until she does, I thought I 'd share these beauties with you on mine! I think her work is beautiful; but, of course, I'm prejudice. Don't you think she needs to start sharing her awesome work?

Mojo Madness Contest - Week #56

This has got to be one of my favorite Christmas images from Gina K Designs. It's from a set called 'let it snow'. I combined this cozy image with Monday's Mojo Madness sketch #56; here's the link. My embellishments included some bling, chunky glitter, a metal sentiment and two snowflakes I had in my stash.
I placed an acetate overlay over my image which was first embossed with my Cuttlebug EF (swiss dots) to create the impression of falling snow. I first saw this done by Susan/Rainy on her blog, Rainy Day Creations. Susan is one of the best and most creative stampers; so head on over to her blog, you won't be sorry!
Supplies: Stamps - Gina K. Designs let it snow; Paper - SU! Dashing; K&Co. Bailey; PTI white and Holiday Vintage Prints; Ink - VersaMark; Versafine onyx black; Accessories - clear EP, Jo-Ann chunky glitter, Cuttlebug, JudiKins acetate, Lasting Impressions metal sentiment, Sandylion snowflakes, rhinestones, sanding block and crimper.

Fun with Santa

I love vintage and have collected many vintage stamps. This particular image is called 'Fun with Santa' and is made by Stampinton & Co. The background was done with a Cuttlebug embossing folder which I brayered in vintage sepia, then heat embossed with clear EP mixed with some dazzling diamonds. The image was also lightly brayered and embossed with the same mix of EP. This is such a fun stamp and very easy to work with. Plus, the possibilities are endless. Hope you like vintage as much as I do!
Supplies: Stamp - Stampinton & Co.; Paper - SU! very vanilla, really rust and PTI dark chocolate; Ink - Versafine vintage sepia as well as VeraMark; Accessories - Cuttlebug, clear embossing powder mixed with dazzling diamonds, Fiskars deckle scissors and star punch, brayer.
