Box with Money Holder

I wanted to share the money/gift card holder I made to fit in a 12" X 6" triangle box.  It is very simple to make:
  1. Cut a piece of cardstock 2.5 inches wide by 7 inches in length.
  2. Score lengthwise at 3.5 inches.
  3. Tie a piece of cord around the middle of the card front.  (This will hold the cash, a check or gift card in place inside the card.)
  4. Have fun decorating the card front and adding a sentiment or hand written note inside. Finished.
Now what could be easier?

These cute boxes aren't just for candy.  I'm even going to be making a few to use for small gifts, and for the young adults on my list who prefer cash.
The boxes are so fun to embellish; and, with Beate's easy-to-follow directions, they are a snap to make.  So head on over to SCS and check out Beate's tutorial!
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!  Have a wonderful day!!

CC193 Noel

Today's color challenge on SCS is a repeat of a favorite -- real red, basic black and kraft.  I paper pieced the main panel, scored the bottom of the vintage cream base, and added the punch outs from a MS border.  Very quick and easy.  It took me more time to glue on the stars!

WT192 Holiday Lineup

Happy Friday, everyone!  I played with my new Holiday Lineup set last night and couldn't wait until this morning in order to take a photo and post this fun image.
This is the first time I inked up this set and I have to say I just can't help but smile whenever I look at this image.  I stamped the image on watercolor paper and used various alcohol markers to color Rudolph and his gang.
This is for all my family members that bemoan the fact that I don't send enough funny cards since I started making my own!
Supplies:  Stamps - SU! Holiday Lineup; Paper - watercolor paper, real red, chocolate chip, kraft and PTI white base; Ink - Versafine onyx black; Accessories:  A mix of Prismacolor, Copic and Mark-It markers, Inkssentials white gel pen and glossy accents, Lasting Impressions metal sentiment, DD, MS border punch and clear EP.

Autumn Wheat

Sorry I haven't posted lately!  I finally got some stamping done and have a Thanksgiving card to share.  Sharon Johnson's work inspired this card.  I absolutely love her style and tried to incorporate her stamp simply philosophy!  You can find the link to her blog here
My image is from a set called Fresh Fruits by PTI.  The colors used are pumpkin pie, baja breeze with a white base and a strip of Autumn Vine DSP.  Instead of ribbon, I wrapped metallic crochet cotton around my scalloped oval as well as my card (next to the long sides of the DP).  A few score lines were also added for dimension.  Very simple; hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.
Supplies:  Stamps - PTI Fresh Fruits; sentiment - PTI Garden of Life; Paper - PTI white, SU! pumpkin pie, baja breeze, SU! DSP Autumn Vine; Ink - Versafine antique sepia; Accessories - clear EP, crochet cotton, Scor-Pal, Nestabilities, dimensionals.

Jewelry Color Inspiration #10

Every Sunday, Stacey posts a color challenge inspired by jewelry on her blog. This week's colors are chocolate chip, tangerine tango, tempting turquoise and white. You can find this fun challenge here.
The base of the card was embossed with a Cuttlebug EF.  The image was colored with SU! markers, then paper pieced. (Sure wish SU! would release In-Color markers!)  Glossy accents were added to the vase and centers of the flowers.  I also went over the petals of the flowers as well as the lines of the tablecloth with a clear stardust pen.
Have a great evening!

FTL18, Stamp Simply #59 Button Up!

I love when I am able to combine challenges!  I combined two with this card.  For my sketch, I used Clean & Simple's Fall to Layout #18, and Sharon Johnson's Stamp Simply Challenge #59 - to make a card for Fall and use a button on it.
I also love "inches" and this sketch was perfect for incorporating them in my simple design. For Sharon's challenge, I used an orange button to accent my sentiment, and also added some super tiny buttons in each corner.  Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!
