CC203 Shirley's 2 Girls - My First Card!

I made this card for this week's color challenge on SCS. The combination this week is baja breeze, garden green and pacific point. This combo gave me a fit, but I guess that's why they call it a challenge (snort)!  Boy, do I wish this sentiment was true..... I love my new Cake Baker image and sentiment from Shirley's 2 Girls!  For this card, I stamped the image twice on white cardstock.  I cut out the cake baker portion of my second image and paper pieced the background, cake and plate. The rest of the image was colored by hand before attaching to my first image with dimensionals. What fun!
You can find this and other fun images by Shirley's 2 Girls here!
Supplies:  Stamps - Cake Baker (SG154) by Shirley's 2 Girls;  Paper - SU! baja breeze, garden green, pacific point and PTI white; Ink - Versafine onyx black, SU! summer sun for sponging the candles; Accessories:  Copic and Prismacolor markers, glaze pens, clear EP, buttons and dimensionals.

There is a new stamp company that is going to blow your socks off!  It's called Shirley's 2 Girls, and it is so fun and full of attitude!  You're gonna love them; you gotta go check them out!
I discovered them through a design team call on SCS.  Found out this weekend that I am one of the lucky ladies chosen for their team, and I have been walking on air every since!  Thank you Deidre and Kristine!
I can't wait for the fun to begin.  Life is good!

OCCC - Boho Backgrounds

I really am enjoying my new 'Cloud 9 Designs' DP, and think the Boho Backgrounds motif is a great match.  Because of the busy patterns and bling, I did not add a sentiment.  This is my take of this week's Our Creative Corner's sketch.  Hope you like it and thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy Monday!

CPS #99 -- Vintage

I rediscovered this stamp the other day in my stash.  Since I have not used it in what seems like forever, I decided to dust it off and ink it up for this week's CPS #99. You can find the link to the sketch here.
This went together very easily and quickly once the glossy accents (applied to the dress and bow) dried.  Some old lace, a MS border, Primas and some pearls were all that I needed to finish it up! I also used one of the journal words sitting on my desk from another project.
Don't forget to leave a comment for the blog candy I posted the other day.  There is still time to enter.  I will be announcing the winner on Thursday.  Have a great week!
Supplies: Stamps - Tim Holtz Collection by Stampers Anonymous; Paper - SU! soft sky, Cloud 9 Designs, PTI white; Ink - Adirondack Espresso, Tim Holtz distress ink in Antique Linen; Accessories - Glossy Accents, MS paper border, old lace and pearls from my stash, deckle scissors, Primas, and K&C0. journal word embellishment, Copic markers, dimensionals.

Blog Candy Alert!

First let me thank everyone for supporting my blog with your visits and comments. Blogging is a new experience for me, and it is always exciting to have my blogging friends stop by and leave a comment.  I couldn't believe it when my blog exceeded 5,000 hits.
Now if you check my counter, you will see that I don't even have 50 hits let alone 5,000. Don't ask me what happened, but my original counter registered a question mark this AM, and I couldn't get it to work.  So, I had to download a new counter today!
At any rate, I am offering this set of Hero Arts stamps as my way of saying THANK YOU! All you have to do to win is leave a comment on this post by Wednesday, January 14.  I will announce the winner on Thursday!
Thanks everyone -- you are the best!

IC161 Something About Hogs and Kisses!

The Inspiration Challenge (IC161) on SCS came from the whimsical cakes found on the Cake Nouveau website.  There's lots of great inspiration found on this site!  You can read about the challenge here.
My inspiration came from a cake called Something About Mary.  It can be found on page 2, first column, 4th cake down. Unfortunately, the link to the site does not take you directly to the cake, but rather just to the page it is on.  Here is the link to the page.
My card was inspired by the bright colors and shapes of the super fun, Something About Mary, cake.  Yum!  Hope you like it and thanks, so much, for stopping by!
Supplies:  Stamps - Rubber Stampede hogs & kisses, Mike's $1 lips; Paper- SU! tangerine tango, pretty in pink, chocolate chip, generic white; Ink - Versafine onyx black and satin red; Accessories - clear EP, various Copic & Prismacolor markers, recycled ribbon from a gift basket, Nestabilities, and various circle punches.
