S2GSC49 - Garden Silhouette with Butterfly

Hi all and greetings to all my friends at S2G! Okay, I admit it... I'm crazy for buttons! So when I saw the Twisted Thursday challenge with a button twist over at Shirley's 2 Girls, I just had to play. What fun! This card also qualifies for this month's Central Theme challenge sponsored by the SCS Dirty Dozen for Fan Club Members.
My easy peasy butterfly embellishment was a snap to make:
  • First I used a Sizzix die to cut my material. (I used a piece from an old quilt square.)
  • Then I threaded waxed linen thread through a button and used the tails of my thread to form the antennae.
  • Next I added a few adhesive dots to the back of the button and attached it to the body of the butterfly.
  • All done... couldn't be easier!
Take care everyone and have a great weekend. Thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies: Stamps - SU! Garden Silhouettes; Paper - SU! very vanilla, night of navy and not quite navy Ink - SU! craft night of navy; Accessories - Corner Rounder punch, SU! Sizzix butterflies and top note dies; waxed linen thread; and, of course, buttons!

KLM - Lucky Leaf

Here's a card I made today using the Lucky Leaf image from KLM Digital Designs. I was delighted to find that my MS 4-leaf clover punch is a great match for my Luck Leaf image. After printing and die cutting my lucky leaf, I covered it with CTMH liquid glass before sprinkling it with MS glitter. I added a a row of punched 4-leaf clovers to my scalloped edge as well as some buttons. Talk about quick & easy... It took longer for the liquid glass to dry!

Happy Saturday! It's a gorgeous, sunny day here in Columbia and I am happy to say there is even a hint of spring in the air!
Today I am sharing a card I made the other day for Cindy's Teapot Tuesday Challenge. Many of you may be familiar with Cindy's (mothermark) work on SCS. She also has a fabulous blog, and each Tuesday she treats everyone to a great challenge and the funniest stories in cyberspace. So if you get a chance, check it out for a real treat.
The challenge inspiration this week is the new Alice in Wonderland movie starring Johnny Depp. As the story goes, the teapot gang is going to London for a special premier of the movie... Thinking rabbits, I dug through my stamps and found a cute bunny stamp called Spring Greetings by Penny Black. I chose a quick and easy design and before I could say, 'I'm late, I'm late...', my rabbit card was ready for Cindy's tea par-tay!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and thanks for stopping by!

FS160, F4A1 - Butterflies

Yeah for March! Hoping for the arrival of sweet Spring weather here. How about you? With thoughts of Spring in mind, I made this card yesterday and it combines 2 challenges posted on Splitcoast -- The Featured Stamper Challenge #160 and the Free for All Challenge #1.
This week's featured stamper is Angella Crockett. Congratulations, Angella! Click here to see her lovely card that I cased. I kept Angella's wonderful design, butterflies and square shape. I changed the colors and DP. I also added ribbon and attached an embossed sentiment rather than stamping my sentiment directly on my card.
The F4A1 challenge is a spankin' new challenge on SCS. This week everyone was challenged to use texture, color and pattern on their creations. For my texture -- I used an embossed sentiment, ribbon, a flower and my butterflies. For color, we were to use a color we normally don't use -- I chose orchid opulence. For pattern -- I used my new PTI DP called Egg Hunt and a scrap of PTI dotted on my butterflies.
This was a fun card to make. It was a great surprise to discover how well the paper and butterfly die matched!
Have a wonderful week and thanks so much for stopping by!
Supplies: Stamps - none; Paper - PTI egg hunt and dotted DSP, SU! orchid opulence; Ink - SU! craft whisper white for sponging; Accessories - Cuttlebug butterfly die, Sizzix SU! embosslit sentiment, MS flower, SU! ribbon, and dimensionals.
