CAS77 - Faux Betta Fish Postage Stamps

Good Morning!  I made this card yesterday for the clean and simple challenge (CAS77) on SCS.  This week we were challenged to make a creation inspired by the title of this children's book -- one fish, two fish, red fish, blue fish.
I used my Betta Fish image from Doodle Pantry for the challenge... Talk about having the perfect image. Thanks, Laurie!  Since I already had this image downloaded and formatted on my computer, it was a breeze inserting it into a faux postage stamp template.  I love when an idea works out on paper!  Hope you like it too...
In case you are interested, here is the link to the challenge.  Have a great day and thanks for visiting!
Supplies: Stamps - Betta Fish by Doodle Pantry; Paper - SU! real red, marina mist, GP white, generic white for base; Ink - printer, Copics, pencils w/gamsol, Sakura clear star pen; Accessories:  EK Success corner punch, buttons from my stash, decorative edge scissors, pastels for shading.

Digital Faux Postage Stamp Tutorial

Hello friends!  I am here today with my first ever tutorial, which would not have been possible without the help of Priscilla Heaton.   Although the Faux Postage Stamp Technique has been around for quite a while, most instructions are for using a template with stamped images. My tutorial is somewhat different in that you insert your digital image(s) directly into the Faux Postage Stamp Template.  Talk about easy!

About the Faux Postage Template
Below is a template that I created in Word, using the Table function. I formatting  the dimensions of the Faux Stamps by using Table Properties in the Table dropdown menu.   The size of each faux postage stamp cell is 1.25" X 1.50". You can select this template and copy and paste the template directly into a Word Document. For this tutorial, I used a "priscillastyles" digital image called Dress Stand.

Directions for using the template and inserting your digital image:
1.  Copy and Paste the Faux Postage Stamp Template into a Word document.  If you are unable to copy and paste the template, try dragging it into your word document.

2.  Copy and paste the image you would like to see on the stamp into the same Word document.  I would suggest that you resize your image to fit the dimensions of your Faux Postage Stamp cell before proceeding to the next step.
3. Then select the image and click on Format in the toolbar. A dropdown menu will appear.

4. Click on "picture" -- A Format Picture box will appear -- Then click on the Layout Tab and select "In front of text" wrapping style.
5. After preparing your digital image to appear "in front of text", select the image. Click on Edit in the Task Bar.
6. Next, select "copy", and then select "paste". Your copy of the image will appear over top of the original image.
7. Then just drag your digital image to one of the faux postage stamp cells. Repeating copy and pasting your image in as many cells as you wish. (just adjust to desired size as needed for your project)

Here is a picture of my template after inserting my dress stand images:

Optional: Use a pair of "stamp" decorative edge scissors to cut out one of the faux postage stamps for use as an embellishment, or to cut out entire template.
Here is a picture of my finished project using the "priscillastyles" Dress Stand image.

I hope you have found this tutorial interesting and fun.. Give it a try and let's see your projects.  Hope everyone has a great week!

MMSC63 -- Pricillastyles

Hi everyone!  I didn't think I was ever going to get this posted.  I love glitter but it's a pain to photograph.  After many takes, I just couldn't get a good photo -- this is the best of the bad.  Sorry the chocolate chip looks black and the image is so light.  Grrr...  At any rate, this is my take on the Midnight Madness sketch (MMSC63), and the freebie digi challenge (cdacfdc2) on Crafter's Digital Art Center.   My digital image is a free download that Priscilla furnished for cdacfdc2.  I also used a SCS faux postage template that I altered and cut out -- Thanks Beate!   Hope you like what I came up with...
Have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by!

TLC281 Oranges and Cherries

Hi everyone!  Sorry I've been MIA this past week.  Back's been given me a fit, and I haven't done much in the way of crafting.  Finally played today with my Oranges and Cherries images from the Doodle Pantry.  I made this card for the Technique Lovers Challenge on Splitcoast -- embossing on embossing.  First, I heat embossed my image using clear embossing powder before dry embossing with a Sizzix EF.  Not sure I like the look.  What do you think?
Have a super day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi everyone! Hope your holiday was a happy one. Today I would like to share a card I made for the CDAC sketch challenge (cdacsc1), hosted by Sugar Creek Hollow.
My image is a new freebie from Doodle Pantry called Thinking Ant. I colored my image with Copics and pencils with gamsol. Although you can't tell by the photo. my image was coated with Liquid Glass -- I really like how it gives my image shine and dimension. I also sponged the sky and grassy areas with Memento inks before added some Flower Soft. Ribbon and bling finished it off. This was a fun card to make!
It's going to be a hot one here this week. Record temps are predicted. So stay cool and thanks so much for stopping by!

CDBC7 - Pearls, Bling and Button Things

CLEARLY DELIGHTFUL BLOG CHALLENGE #7
(use keyword CDBC7)
Sponsored by Doodle Pantry digital doodles!
Happy 4th, everyone! I have a treat for you today. The Clearly Delightful Blog Challenge is being posted a day early this month. This month's theme is pearls, bling and button things. It's easy to join in the challenge:
  • Just create something new following this month's theme -- use either pearls, bling or buttons, or all three. Although we would love to see Doodle Pantry images, you may use any manufacturer's stamps or digital images on your creation.
  • Then, post a direct link to your creation, using Mr. Linky, on Laurie's Clearly Delightful Blog Challenge Page.
  • Also, you must leave a comment on the Clearly Delightful blog post ... Don't forget to mention whether you want Laurie to email you the Pasque Flower or the Digging Ant digital image (your free gift just for participating)!
  • Only one entry per person, please. Deadline for submission is Monday, July 19.
Here's my card for the challenge:
For my sample, I used the cherry image and one of the sentiments from the Doodle Pantry Set called Oranges and Cherries. This is one of the new sets just released by Doodle Pantry. To meet this month's theme, buttons (my favorite embellishment) became "button cherries" and I also added 3 black rhinestones to the upper left-hand corner of my image panel. How fun and easy.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention that one randomly selected participant will win a prize package of approximately $35 worth of card making/scrapping supplies. Now how cool is that... For more challenge details, great samples, and photos of July's featured images and prize package, click HERE.
Sure hope you play along with us. Can't wait to see your creations. Have a super week!
Update: Doodle Pantry is having a sale through July 7. To receive 25% off entire cart be sure to enter code DP4JULY25. This offer even includes the new release images!
