Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #110

Good Morning!  So sorry I've been MIA... lately, life has been getting in the way of blogging.  My hubby and I are presently enjoying some fun and sun at the beach.  We will be home in a few days and hopefully I will be back to blogging on a more regular basis.

Today I have a card to share using the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #110.  I used a new digital image created by Priscilla Heaton.  I've been wanting a vintage auto image for ages, and am thrilled that Priscilla created one for the "priscillastyles" Store. It's perfect for creating masculine cards.  Thanks, Priscilla!

In keeping with the image, I went with a vintage look with lots of distressing and layers.  My image was colored with Copics, and I added a layer of clear embossing to the auto.   The pattered papers are digital from the Love Letters DSP by MDS.  Embellishments used are jewelry spacers and black rhinestones from my stash.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Happy Father's Day!

Just a quick post to wish all the dads a very Happy Father's Day!  I hope everyone has a very fun and enjoyable day doing what they love best.

I would also like to mention that the image and sentiment I used is by Sherry K Designs.  It is a "freebie" available at My Grafico.

Have a great week!

Plush Panda Two

Happy weekend, everyone!  Here's another card made with a cute Doodle Pantry pre-colored image from the Plush Panda set.  I just couldn't resist using this set again... The sweet image just makes me smile!

This design also combines the wonderful bamboo digi paper and one of the sentiments included with this  set. This card came together quick as a wink and has already been mailed to someone special.

Have a great weekend and many thanks for stopping by!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 108

Good Morning!  A great, new sketch has been posted today on the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC108), and my take on the sketch is pictured above.  The image I used to create my card is from the "priscillastyles" Horse Head digital set.  It is one of my favorites, and it's available at the "priscillastyles" Store.

I colored the image with Copic markers and coated it with a layer of liquid glass.  The horseshoe paper is from the Lucky Sheep digital set by Doodle Pantry.  I recolored the paper to match my design; then printed the paper twice -- once for the background; and then I resized and printed the paper to make the small squares.  This formatting was done in a "Word" document.  Finishing touches include flowers and die cuts.  I am very pleased with how this turned out and hope you like it, too.

Challenges:
Shelly's Images Terrifically Thrilling Thursday -- Show Us What You Got (anything goes)
Stamp Something -- Something Punched Challenge  (Both the squares and scallop squares were punched.)
There's Magic in the Air -- Magical Monday -- Pick Two   (I chose to use flowers and die cuts.)

So glad you were able to stop by.  Have a great day!

Flowers For You

Hi everyone.  My card today was inspired by this post on Mel Stampz.  Mel shares a gorgeous card using the 'For You Flowers' image included on the Stampin Up's So Much to Sale-A-Brate Disc.  Mel also shares a brilliant tutorial explaining how to convert solid SU! images into outline images!  Here's a direct link to the tutorial.

Since I have this disc, I used the same image and followed the instructions to convert the image from solid to outline.  I am thrilled with the results.  Thanks so much, Mel!

Instead of paper piecing, I 'filled' the flower outlines digitally with one of the digi papers from Bold Summer Paper Pack by Doodle Pantry.  I also colored the center of the large flower with Spica and glaze pens.  What a fun and easy card to make!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Plush Panda

Good Morning and a Happy Saturday to you!  Today I have a card to share using one of the new releases from  Doodle Pantry.  This new set is called Plush Panda and features both colored and outline images, sentiments, and digi paper.

For this creation, I inserted a circular shape in a 'Word' document, then merged the panda 'in front' of the circle.  I also used the FORMAT feature in 'Word' to fill the circle with a dotted pattern and to add a black line around the circle.  The possibilities with digis are fun and very easy to do!

Challenges:
Tuesday Throwdown #52 -- Use an animal.
Stamp Something -- Something Punched Challenge

Have a great weekend and thanks for taking the time to visit.

Little Lighthouse

Hi All!  When I first saw this new Little Lighthouse set by Doodle Pantry, I knew I found the perfect image to create a Father's Day card for my hubby.  This new set is 'Free with with any purchase' during the month of June.  What a deal!  This set includes everything pictured below:

To create my card, I used the digi papers and pre-colored image which I combined with a sentiment from  'Reel Em In'.  The shape of my card is called a "Spring Card".  You can find the tutorial for this fold in the Resource Section on Splitcoaststampers.  It's a snap to make, and if you have never given it a try, I highly recommend that you do.  Click here to go directly to the tutorial.  Grr, my camera did it again... the paper is more aqua than blue IRL.  Sorry about that!

Challenges:
Stamp Something -- June Digi Day
Her Comes The Boys Challenge #3 -- Father's Day, Hubby/Partner
Card Creations and More by C -- So Saturday Challenge #11 -- Shape Card
Creative Inspirations Challenge 61 -- Father's Day or card for dad
Come and Get it Challenges -- Happy Father's Day Challenge

Have a super day and thanks for stopping by!
