Stella Birthday

Happy start to a new week!  I have another fun Stella card to share today.  This one uses the Catch the Bug sketch challenge SSS103. I colored my image with Copics and glaze pens.  The circle was embossed with a large dotted EF.  Just a bit of bling and a crinkle ribbon bow and this card was done quick as a wink.  It took me longer to get a good photo!

I wil be entering this card in the following challenges:
Catch the Bug Blog Challenge SSS 103 -- Stella says "sketch" 103
Inspire Me Fridays 43 -- Anything Goes

Hope everyone has a great week.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sketches by Carly #48

Happy Sunday!  Here's a fun card using Bugaboo's February Stella Calendar Month set.  This is one of the new images I purchased with a gift certificate I won over at Sketches by Carly).  Thanks Carly, Kris and Bogaboo!!  I could not wait to play with this image.  Of course, I had to use Sketches by Carly #48:

This was a quick card to put together.  Except for the red hearts, I decided not to color the image.  Although it doesn't show in the photo, glitter was added to the straps of the wings and felt heart.  Really had fun with this one.

Off to pick up some groceries before the Raven's play at 3 pm.  Thanks for stopping by!

"priscillastyles" -- Frog Digi Set

Happy weekend, everyone!  I have been having lots of  fun playing with a new Frog Digi Set by "priscillastyles".  This new set comes with a total of 9 digital images and sentiments that are perfect for Valentine's Day as well as Spring.

Here's how I created the heart for the image and sentiment:  First,  I inserted a heart shape into a Microsoft Word document.   Then I formatted the heart's background fill with MDS Love Impressions DSP.  Next, the image and sentiment were merged on top of the heart.   Coloring was done with Copis.   Shading was added to the lips with a red Prismacolor pencil.  Last step was to go over the iips and eyes with CTMH liquid glass for some shine and dimension.  What fun!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Simply Create Too Challenge #5 -- Love is in the Air
Wags 'n Whiskers Challenge 71 -- Valentines/Love card
Craft Us Crazy -- Valentine/Love or animals

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great weekend and Go Ravens!

Iris Valentine

Happy Thursday!  When I saw this week's sketch challenge from My Favorite Things (MFTWSC55), I thought I would  give it a try, and combine the sketch with some other fun challenges.

Since I wanted to make a Valentine in non-traditonal colors, I used the Iris set by Doodle Pantry for my Valentine.  I combined the pre-colored image and one of the sentiments from this set;  and pulled the colors from the Iris for the color theme of amethyst, white and dark yellow.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges
Pixie Dust Studio -- Going dotty -- use polka dots on your card or project

Thank you for stopping by to see what I've been working on. Have a great day and Happy Crafting!!

Clean and Simple

Hi everyone.  Just a quick post of a card I made for the Clean and Simple FTL173 sketch challenge.  I am a big fan of one layer cards, and love the Clean and Simple Fall to Layout sketches.  IRL, I like how this one turned out, but had a heck of a time getting a good photo.  I think part of the problem with the distortion is that a heavier cardstock would have been a better "one layer" choice for the base.  Oh well, as they say... practice makes perfect!

BTW, to see some gorgeous one layer cards, check out the one-layer cards Kathy posts every Friday on her blog, Lucky Stamper .

I'm off to bed since I have an early doctor's appointment in the AM.  Sweet dreams, everyone!

Quirky Birthday Mouse

Hi everyone, it's a rainy day here in Maryland... Perfect weather for crafting!  So instead of running errands, I played with the new Quirky Mouse set by Doodle Pantry.  The fun 'cheese' digi paper is from the same set.

I love to mix and match my digis and really had fun today playing around with them.  Since I wanted to create a birthday card, I just selected and copied a candle from Doodle Pantry's Birthday Birdie set, then merged it on top of the cheese.  The sentiment and yellow dotted paper are from another Doodle Pantry set -- Balloon Ants Color Plus.  Copics were used to color my image, and the awesome sketch is by Sketches by Carly.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
The Crafter's Cafe Challenge -- Happy Birthday Challenge
Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #59 -- No Floral Embellishments

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your day.

Faith in Nature

Hi All, Happy start to a new week!  Here's my take on a clean and simple masculine birthday card using the Fall to Layout Sketch 172.  I combined new rubber -- SU's Faith in Nature's pear stamp -- with a sentiment (Pears and Raspberries set) and paper (Juicy Strawberries set) from Doodle Pantry.  I stamped the image in Versafine onyx black ink; then heat embossed with clear EP. Coloring was done with Copics.  It's been a while since I used rubber and I really missed being able to resize the image to fit my Nestabilities -- had to used larger dies than I would have liked.  Oh well, you can't always combine the best of both worlds completely.

Challenges:
Birthday Sundaes Challenge #38 -- birthday sentiment, optional something new.  I used new rubber.
Crazy for Challenges (C4C118) -- Use something new.  I used new rubber.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you have a great week.

Lil Hummer with Winter Accessories

Hi All!  Has everyone recovered from the holidays?  I took the day to relax before I tackle getting the house back in order tomorrow. Of course, I couldn't resist playing with some of the new Doodle Pantry sets -- Lil Hummer and Winter Accessories Color Plus. These sets come with both colored and outline images, sentiments and digital paper.  For my card I combined the colored images and a sentiment from another DP set, Sledding Ants.  The sketch used is Card Patterns Sketch146.  I also gave a try at telescoping the image. Toy explains how to do this in her SCS post for the TLC challenge 349.  Thanks Toy!

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:

Just a reminder -- There's still time left to pick up some Doodle Pantry sets at 50% off!  Just a few hours ... sale comes to an end tonight, January 2, at midnight (EST).

Thanks for visiting and enjoy the rest of your week!

DPDC19 and a New Release

Happy 2012!  Doodle Pantry is ringing in the New Year with a release of some fabulous new digital sets. Plus, the Year End/New Year sale continues  through January 2 -- 50% off all digital images!  Click here to go to the Specials Page for details.

I am thrilled to share a card I made with the new Alphabet Sheep Color Plus set.  The digital heart paper is from another new DP set, Love Snakes.  After merging the precolored sheep images on top of the heart paper, I used the shadow format in Microsoft Word to add shading around the images.  Lace and epoxy hearts embellish my design.  Talk about easy peasy crafting!

In addition to the release, a new Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC19) starts today on the Doodle Pantry Blog.  It's easy to join in the fun -- just create a card using a Doodle Pantry image.  For challenge details, featured product for playing, and prize information, click here.

In addition to DPDC19, I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks - Crazy Egg Challenge 70 -- Something new (New images & digital paper; plus a new (for me) color combo.)
The Paper Shelter -- Tie a Bow

I wish everyone a very Happy and Healthy New Year, and thank you for stopping by.  Happy Crafting!!
