Happy Mother's Day

Good Morning everyone!  Today, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Fab and Funky Challenge 113.  The challenge theme is Mother's Day, and I used the super fun Super Birdie digital set to create a Mother's Day card for the challenge. This set includes both outline and colored images as well as digital papers and sentiments.

I colored the outline birdie with Copics, then coated the cape and bow with some dazzling diamonds.  I also used some Sulky holoshimmer thread to do the Spirelli technique around the scallop circles. This is such a fun and easy technique to do, and I recommend you give it a try; be forewarned though it's addictive!  There's a great tutorial on SCS explaining this technique and even includes a video by Beate.  I also used some SU! silver cord, and a handmade flower and leaves  to embellish my card.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge #137 -- Things with Wings
Paper Creations Ink Challenge #21 -- Things with Wings
Daisy Doodles Creative Challenge #55 -- "Tie It Up" - Must use a digi and ribbon or cord.
Uae Your Stuff Challenge #26 -- Anything Goes  (I used a metal flower brad that I recently rediscovered in my stash .)

Hope everyone is enjoying their week.

SSS106 -- Bentley

Hi everyone, Last time I posted I was talking about spring.  Well, temps are now in the 80's  and the sun is shining brightly -- looks like summer is making a showing -- love it!  I also love this fun Bentley image by Bugaboo stamps.  It just cracks me up, and I had to have it as my nephew and his wife are expecting their little boy any day now.  Hope they enjoy the humor.

This card is my interpretation of  Stella Says Sketch 106.  Love this sketch as it was perfect  for creating a gift card/check holder.  I colored the fun image with Copics and pastels, and paper-pieced the jammies digitally.  Although it's not noticeable in the photo, glassy accents were added to the tears.

I love dots and used the dotted sweet dreams digi paper from My Graficio, and will also be entering this card in the Cupcake Craft Challenge 182.

Sure hope the sun in shining in your neck of the woods.  Thanks so much for your visit today!

Easter Bunny Tulips

Happy Sunday and the start of a new week.  Yep, spring is definitely in the air, and I'm loving that we will now have more hours of daylight with the arrival of DST.

Today's card is my interpretation of Sketch by Carly #51.  I combined Bugaboo's cute Easter Bunny Tulips image with a new Easter Basket die set from Taylor Expressions.  The tuiips background paper is from one of the new digi paper sets by Doodle Pantry called Easter Fun Digi Paper Pack.  Other printed papers are from PTI.  Coloring was done with Copics and I used pastels to create the sky.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Spring is in the Air!

Don't know about you, but I am so ready for Spring's sunny days, blue skies and gorgeous flowers; and with Easter fast approaching, I've been getting a jump start on my cards while thinking of jellybeans and yummy Easter Eggs from Wockenfuss Candies.

This Easter card combines 3 Doodle Pantry sets.  The  digital papers are from the new Easter Fun Papers.  The image is from Easter Egg Sheep, and the sentiment is from Easter Birdie.  After cropping the image, I colored it with Copics. Then cut it out with a Spellbinder's die and shaded the edges with pastels.  In keeping with the Spring theme, I used a flower and butterflies to embellish my card.  I will be entering this card in the following fun challenges:

Flutter by Wednesday -- Spring Time
Cupcake 182 -- Yellow and Red
Paper Creations Ink -- Spring is in the Air
Crafting When We Can -- Animals

Thanks so much for your visit!.  Have a great day!

Furry Sherlock

Hi everyone, hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.   Since my hubby is a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes, I almost flipped when I saw Doodle Pantry's new Detective Sheep set; and couldn't wait to share the card I made with it.  To create the scene, I merged the little detective sheep over another image, Harvest Bounty.  Talk about fun!

i colored the images with Copics and also used some pastels to highlight the sky and foreground.  Finishing touches include Flower Soft, Glossy Accents and a big bow with sentiment.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
The Outlawz -- Copic/Promarker Challenge - for men only
Inspire Me Fridays 48 -- Anything Goes!
Polkadoodle Week 9 -- Polkadots, stripes or both

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy Crafting!

Doodle Pantry Release and New Challenge (DPDC21)

Happy March!  A new collection of digital images and papers have been released by Doodle Pantry today, and I am pleased to share two cards showcasing the new Resurrection Digi Paper Pack.  This set of digl papers includes 8 different digital patterns and comes in 8 full plus 4 duo sheets.  The duo sheets combine 2 different patterns in coordinating colors, making them user-friendly and cost effective.

For my first card pictured above, I matched up the digi papers with a cross image from Doodle Pantry's Christ's Gift set.  Sentiment is from the Lion and Lamb set.  For those that may be wondering, the embellishment in the center of the cross is a jewelry spacer.

For my next card, I pieced paper squares to form a simple quilt block.  What tickles me most about this card is that I was able to incorporate all the Resurrection Digi Papers into one design.  Sentiment is from Clover Patch Ants.  I also used Sizzix and Spellbinder dies to create the daisy and frame the 'quilt'.

In addition to the release, a new Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC21) will be posted today at 11 AM on the Doodle Pantry Blog.  It's easy to join in the fun -- just create a card using a Doodle Pantry image.  For challenge details, featured product for playing, and prize information, click here.  We would love to see your Doodle Pantry creations!

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  Have a great day!!

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 136 (MMSC136)

So glad you were able to stop by today as it's the first of the month and the start of March's Midnight Madness Monthly Sketch Challenge (MMSC136).  Pictured below are the sketches for March (MMSC136) -- It's your pick -- make it fancy, clean and simple, or somewhere in-between.

You can enter one or both styles of MMSC136 in the challenge.  You are also more than welcome to enter up to 4 cards during the whole month of March.  Also, we would like to challenge you to use the COLOR GREEN on your creations.  Please note that this theme is merely for inspiration and not a requirement to play.  Be sure to stop by the Midnight Madness Challenge Blog to see if you are one of last month's awards/prize winners, and to check out the new sketch and this month's prize information.

Now, a little about the cards I pictured at the beginning of my post... For my first interpretation of  MMSC136, I kept things pretty clean and simple and used the fun, new "priscillastyles" set called Dog Bone Treat (set of 9).  The cute dog with bone was colored with Copics and pastels.  For my "color green" I added grass strips to the panels and a green bow with fabric button.

Next up is a fancier interpretation of MMSC136.  The "priscillastyles" set I used on this card is Frog Digital Stamp Set (set of 9).  I merged the frog on top of two different digi papers before printing.  Coloring was done with Copics and a bit of glitter was added to the flower.

Have a great day.  I am looking forward to seeing all the entries this month!
