First of Christmas Cards 2012

Wondering where I've been?  Heaven help me, I've been cleaning...  Must have been bitten by the cleaning bug (haha)!

I also have been playng with a new Taylor Expressions die and made some Christmas cards.  Inspiration came from a card I saw on Susan Raihala 's blog, Simplicity. To see her card, click here.

I love Susan's work... Her one layer, CAS designs are pure genius.  Although I seem to be lacking the CAS mojo gene, her inspiring work prompted the card I am sharing with you today.  Thanks, Susan, for kickstarting this year's Christmas stash.

Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by.

Quirky Owl

Good Morning and Happy Sunday!   Today, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the OHW Stars & Stamps Sketch Challenge #109.  Talk about an easy sketch that is a dream to work with!  I combined the sketch with a pre-colored image and sentiment from Doodle Pantry's Quirky Owl set to create a clean and simple birthday card.

Irish Cupcake Ants

Hi All, hope everyone had a fun and happy Valentine's Day.  Today I have a card to share that was inspired by Digital Tuesday Challenge #147 -- use your stash.

Since I love to mix and match sets, I went through my stash of digital images and found 3 sets ( one old and 2 new) that would work well together to create a whimsical St. Patrick's Day card.  Three different Doodle Pantry sets were used --  image from Cupcake Ants, Clover Patch Ants COLOR Plus digi paper, and a sentiment from Irish Birdie.

The image was colored with Copics, and the cupcake liner was 'paper pieced' digitally.  Before cutting out the image and mounting with dimensionals, I added Glossy Accents to the ants and glitter to the sprinkles. To finish the design I added a flower made with the help of a Spellbinders die and MS clover punch. What a fun card to create!

Thanks so much for visiting.  Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

Clover Patch Ant

Hi everyone.  Gosh, time really has gotten away from me; sorry I haven't posted in almost a week!... Don't you just hate when life gets in the way?

Today's card uses a pre-colored image from Doodle Pantry's newly released Clover Patch Ants COlOR Plus set.  Isn't this image the cutest!  I thought it would be perfect with Sketch by Carly 49.  I did tweaked the sketch  -- substituted a circle instead of a square for the main panel.

Also, this is the first time I tried Spirelli string art. -- so easy and fun to do. You can find a great tutorial for this technique on SCS -- just click HERE  to go directly to the Spirelli tutorial.

This card was really a fun one to make.  The sketch is a dream to work with and using a pre-colored image really made quick work of getting my card made and posted.  As always, I'm so glad you stopped by to visit.  Enjoy your day!

Snowdrops

Hi everyone.  Yesterday I had to make a sympathy card for a dear friend whose mother passed away.  Don't know about you, but I find sympathy cards very difficult to make.  By keeping my design simple... just a floral image with sentiment on the main panel... this card  came together easily and quickly.   The floral image I used is from Doodle Pantry's Snowdrops set.  The sentiment is one of three sentiments included in the new Sympathy Sentiment Freebie set.  This set is also by Doodle Pantry and can be found on the freebies page and downloaded for free without making other purchases.  Thank you Laurie!

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for visiting today!

DPDC20 and a new Doodle Pantry Releae

Hi everyone!  Today's the day Doodle Pantry is releasing their new February sets, and I am showcasing one of the fun new sets called Ski Sheep.  This set comes with both outline and colored images, 2 matching digital papers as well as 3 sentiments.  I also used one of the coordinating digital papers from another new release -- Sport Paper Pack.

For my card, I used the set's outline image, which I colored with Copics.  Although it's barely noticeable in the photo, the sheep's fleece was covered with a fluffy layer of Fun Flock.  I also added MS chunky glitter to the foreground to give the look of snow.  Lots of layers and a simply bow with brad on the front panel finish my design.  To see all the new sets up close and personal, click here.  You won't be disappointed!

In addition to the release, a new Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC20) will be posted today at 11 AM  on the Doodle Pantry Blog.  It's easy to join in the fun -- just create a card using a Doodle Pantry image.  For challenge details, featured product for playing, and prize information, click herel.  We would love to see your Doodle Pantry creations!

Besides DPDC20, I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

MMSC135 -- Heart Wreath

Happy February, and the start of February's Midnight Madness Monthly Sketch Challenges (MMSC135).  I am very excited as this is my very first post as a member of the new Midnight Madness Design Team!  The challenges will pretty much remain the same; however, you will have the whole month to submit your creations.  So be sure to mark your calendars  and join us the first of each month for a new challenge!

For my take on the MMSC135, I used the beautiful "priscillastyles" Hearth Wreath to create a traditional Valentine.  My image was colored with Copics, Prismacolor pencils with gamsol, as well as glaze pens.  Elements included in my design are an embossed white panel, flowers, die cut hearts, die cut leaves, ribbon, and a punched sentiment.

Besides using MMSC135, I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
The Corrosive Challenge #141 -- I (heart) you-hearts
The Craft Pad Challenge 155 -- Show some Valentine/Anniversary Love
Allsorts Challenge -- One or more hearts
Crazy4Challenges  (C4C121) -- Lots of layers and embellies
