CSAYL Challenge 32 -- Lots of Layers

Happy Friday!  Today starts a new challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long (CSAYL32).  This week the challenge is to dress your card for the cold... use 4 or more layers on your creation.

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is Beccy's Place.

I chose to work with Beccy's wonderful Candy Canes image, which I paper pieced and dressed with lots of layers.  This was a fun card to make.  Besides lots of layers, I used 3 different oval dies and and punched corners.  Embellishments include a white ribbon border and new SU! candy dots.  Although barely visible in the photo, the holly berries were coated with liquid glass.

I will be entering this card in the following fab challenges:
Weekly Christmas Card Challenge #40 -- Something New (I used my new favorite - SU! candy dots.)
Oozak Challenge #21 -- Anything Goes/diecuts/punches
Crafty Ribbons Challenge #60 -- Anything Goes with Ribbon
CRAFT Challenge 223  -- Christmas
Beccy's Place September Challenge -- Use a Beccy's Place image

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

  15. This is gorgeous!!! I LOVE the layout and those pieced candy canes (and leaves)! They must have taken forever, but it was so worth it (says the one who didn't spend a lot of time cutting out little tiny pieces). Also glimpsed your pumpkins from your previous post and they are stunning! I love pumpkins and did I mention that I love this card? : )

  26. Loved those candy canes, and I bet this one was fiddly to piece (I'm not great with paper piecing). You did a marvelous job on this, and love all the oval layers. Great touch to use the photo corners to frame it. I was enjoying the card, and thinking "Now what diecut is this?" and realized you created the effect with the photo corners. Really pretty & all the pattern papers combined so beautifully to create this nifty card. TFS

  27. I'm amazed that with all these layers, you've still managed to keep it CAS! That's some real fussy cutting on the candy canes! But it's well worth the effort!
