Things with Wings

Morning everyone!  This week Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Sentimental Sundays Challenge #208, and the theme is Things with Wings.  For my take on the challenge, I used Doodle Pantry's A Tweet Hello set.  I really had fun coloring the sweet image with Copic markers, and paper piecing the image digitally with SU! retro fresh papers.  I also fussy cut an extra copy of the birdhouse's roof, and layered it on the image with dimensionals.  Lots of different die cuts and punched shapes were used to embellish my card.  The hello die cut was made with a Cuttlebug die I had forgotten about.... It's years old, and I'm so happy to have rediscovered it!  Cleaning up one's craft space sometimes turns up the best surprises!

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
Crazy 4 Challenges 237 -- Turquoise, Orange and Kraft
Sister Act Challenge #58 -- Anything Goes
Sweet Pea Stampers -- Things with Wings

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day; and if you are in the States, enjoy the holiday!

Happy Friday, everyone.  Wishing everyone in the States a safe and happy holiday weekend. Today I have a masculine card to share, which I created for a relative who is celebrating a milestone birthday.  I merged some new digis (from the SU!/MDS Wetlands set) on digital paper in a Word Document.   After printing the image, coloring with done with Copic Markers and a white gel pen.  After die-cutting and layering some circular Spellbinder dies, I inserting my image inside the frame. Then embellished the frame with Spirelli string art, and finished with a die cut sentiment.

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone!  Lots of birthdays are being celebrated by family and friends.  Here's a birthday card I made for my niece.  This time I went with a vintage look and bright colors.  The borders at the top and bottom of the card were created using a MS border punch and decorated with tiny pearls.  The flower embeliishments were also created with punches and decorated with pearls.  The image combines 2 Doodle Pantry sets -- floral branches from Genuine Love and a sentiment from Celebrations Sentiments; the image and frame were cut out with a Spellbinders label die.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
Artistic Inspirations Challenge #92 -- Anything Goes with punches and/or dies
Come and Get It Challenges -- Let's play bingo!  (I used 3 or more layers, free choice-pearls, flowers.)
Clear It Out Challenge -- Theme - vintage; Stash - pearls
Shopping our Stash SOS #152 -- Birthday or Anniversary

Thanks so much for stopping by; Hope you have a fun day and Happy Crafting!

Happy Graduation Two Ways

Hi everyone!  Just a a quick post tonight to share a couple of graduation cards -- one plain and the other a bit more dressed up.  Both cards use the same image and sentiment from one of my favorite SU!/MDS grad sets, Go Graduate Plus. I used school colors and colored the images with Copic Markers.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this wonderful time of year. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone.  Today's card is my first try at a new (to me) technique, called Punched Ombre.  This technique was created by Deb Valder.  I learned how to do it by watching one of Linda's top notch videos on Stamping School.

After completing the punched and embossed background, I only needed to add a small focal point to the card's front to finish my design.  I was able to get the look I was striving for by combining elements from two different Doodle Pantry sets -- pre-colored flowered branches from Genuine Love; and a Happy Mother's Day sentiment from Salutations Francaises.  The branches were arranged, grouped and some were even cropped In a Microsoft Word document before merging them together on top of a simple oval shape.  Just had to add the sentiment to the inside of the oval, before printing, die cutting and adding the digital focal point to the card's front.

I would like to enter my card in the following fun challenges:
Sassy Studios DTBST Challenge #228 -- Happy Mother's Day
Inspired by... #114 -- Mother's Day Theme
Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge TT050814 -- Anything Goes with a Die Cut and Punches twist

Enjoy your weekend and have a very Happy Mother's Day!  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Summer Song Birdies

Good Morning, everyone.  Today is release day at  Doodle Pantry, and I'm excited to share a card using the new Summer Song Birdies set.  Aren't the seagulls the cutest... makes me yearn for a sunny holiday at the beach!  Here's a preview of everything this new set includes:

For my card, I colored the outline image with Copic markers and colored pencils.  Digital paper piecing of the posts/pilings was done with grunge wood digi paper from the Grunge Wood Mini Paper Pack.  The background was created by merging sky digi paper from Cupid Turtle and water digi paper from Bold Summer Digital Paper Pack behind the trio of seagulls.  The flag banner was created using my new SU! triangle punch.

When you stop by Doodle Pantry to see the new release, don't forget to go to the Special Page to see this month's specials and pick up your coupon code.

I will be entering my card in the following fun challenges:
