Bits and Pieces

Hi everyone. After cleaning my craft space the other day, I used some of the unused bits and pieces that were sitting on my desk.  This card is the result.  It's nothing fancy... just a basic card to brighten someone's day.

Now If I would just do this more often, maybe I could put a dent in my scrap bin!  If you have any suggestions about organizing leftover cardstock, punched shapes and diecuts, please share.

Hope everyone has a great holiday weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!!

Congratulations, Graduates!

Happy Monday, everyone.  Don't know about you, but for me, May seems to be flying by and bringing on the graduation ceremonies and celebrations.  So today I have two graduation cards to share.  The card pictured above combines two wonderful sets by the Doodle Pantry -- the Owl set and the Grad Hats set.  I love how these sets work together to create an elegant graduation image.

My card below uses a whimsical grad image and sentiment from the Go Graduate Plus brush set by MDS.  Isn't this image fun?!!

To all the 2011 graduates, my very best wishes and congratulations.  I hope everyone has a great day and thank you for stopping by.

A Merry little Christmas

Hi everyone.  I'm glad to have blogger back; bet you are too.  As you can see, I have been playing with some new (to me) MDS images and digi paper... trying to make a (postage-friendly) Christmas card to add to my meager stash.  Although this card looks better IRL, I think it needs to loose the green corners, or at least have them positioned differently.  Sometimes, I think my camera is my best critic.  It always picks up something that needs fixing.  This is one of those times.... so I think I'll sleep on it and hopefully come back with a better design.

Nite all.  So glad you were able to stop by!

Green Tea Birthday

Hi everyone, Just a quick post of a card I made for my niece.  I was inpired by the Mojo Monday Sketch 190, which was designed by Debbie Carriere.  Thanks, Debbie...What a great sketch!

My MDS image is from the Green Tea brush set.  I paired it with a MDS curly cute sentiment and a panel of digi paper from the Doodle Pantry Easter Bunny set.   This was a quick and easy card to make . I swear it took me longer to get a presentable photo. Sometimes my camera has a mind of its own... it definitely did not want this card to be turquoise!

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your week!

Supplies: Stamps -- Flowers from the  MDS Green Tea Brush Set; Paper -- basic black, whisper white, Doodle Pantry Easter Bunny digi paper,  Lasting Impressions textured white base; Ink -- computer; Accessories -- Spellbinder dies, decorative paper trimmer, deckle scissors, corner punch, small piece of Offray ribbon , pearls from my stash, flowers by K&Company.

Something to Celebrate

Happy weekend everyone!  Today I have a card to share which uses an oldie but goodie (pre-colored) image and sentiment from the Doodle Pantry set called New Happy Birthday B.  This image has always been one of my favorites, and I am loving how it looks against the 3 blue coordinating papers from the new Doodle Pantry Baby Basics Paper Pack .  Talk about a deal;  you get 3 different patterns in 5 different colors -- a total of 15 sheets of digi paper -- for just $2!   Look what's included:

Wondering how I combined the image, oval and sentiment on the digi paper?  It's very easy to do!  I opened a Word document ; then copied and pasted the digi paper into the document -- formatted the 'picture" to "wrap behind the text".  Next, I inserted an oval shape over the digi paper --  formatted  the shape to  wrap "in front of text'.  Then I added my sentiment inside the oval -- formatted to wrap "in front of text".  Last, my image was copied and pasted into the document overtop both the paper and oval; again, I formatted the 'picture' to "wrap in front of text".   Told you it was easy peasy!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Stamp Something May Digi Challenge -- Use something digi on you project.  (I used a digi image, sentiment and papers.)
Creative Inspirations Challenge 10 -- Embossing  (I embossed the card base with a Sizzix EF.)
Crafty Catz Weekly Challenge -- Give us a Quote/Sentiment
Inspire Me Fridays 5 -- Anything Goes
Little Miss Muffet Challenge # 8 -- Diecuts or Punches (I used both.)

Thanks so much for visiting today.  Hope all the stamping mamas have a very Happy Mother's Day!

Supplies:  Digital image and sentiment -- Doodle Pantry New happy Birthday B set; Paper -- SU! whisper white, certain celery, pumpkin pie, Doodle Pantry Baby Basics Paper Pack, Letterpress A2 card; Ink -- computer; Accessories -- Sizzix embossing folder, Spellbinders die, Marvy flower punches in 2 sizes, Recollections epoxy dots, dimensionals.

MMSC102 -- Slot Mama

Hi everyone,  Here's a card I made for my friend, Diane, who loves to play the slots.  Isn't this image perfect.  It's called 'Slot Mama' and is available at the "priscillastyles" Store.  I think it's a hoot.  I hope Diane will get a kick out of it.

I really had fun with this one...  I started with the sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 102 (MMSC102).  Then I did some paper piecing, distressed the background panel with antique linen distress ink; sponged and colored the image with various inks, Copics, and Spica pens;  added some liquid glass on the screen of the slot machine; and embellished with some dice and a computer-generated sentiment.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #102 (MMSC102) -- Sketch
Wee Memories Challenge #54  -- Paper Piecing
Paper Cutz Challenge #89 -- Anything Goes
Crafty Hos' Challenge Blog -- theme: Celebrate strong, influential women
Paper Playtime Challenge #44 -- April's Digi Monday -- Friends (Made this for my friend, Diane.)

Have a great day.and thanks for stopping by!

FS221 -- Susan Raihala

Welcome May... I hope this month brings back the sunshine and sends the storms packing!

I have a quick post to share today.  I am a big fan of Susan Raihala, and when I saw that she is today's featured stamper on Splitcoast, I just had to play. Her gallery is amazing and filled with inspiration. No one does CAS better!

This is the card that I cased:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=49585

I kept Susan's basic design and used a round scalloped element as the main focal point. To make the card my own, I changed the colors and embellishments. Also, instead of a Christmas card, I made a get well card.

Have a super day and thanks so much for stopping by!

Supplies:  Stamps -- MDS puns from the past; Paper - real red, basic black, GP white, white letterpress ; Ink -- computer; Accessories -- Spellbinder dies and Cloud 9 epoxy dots
