Winter Birthday

Morning everyone,  Here's my take on Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 249, sponsored by Doodle Pantry.  The challenge photo inspired me to make a birthday card for my great nephew who will turn a year old on March 1.  I combined two Doodle Pantry sets,  A Tweet Hello and Winter Birthday, to create my birdie cupcake.  The sentiment is from another DP set, Birdie Birthday Color Plus.  After  paper piecing the cupcake's liner and candle, I added lots of glitter to the icing, colored the flame with Copics, and sponged around the flame with Daffodil Delight ink to create the glow.  I also got to play with some new dies from Taylored Expressions.  Nothing like some new toys to get your mojo working!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Cards Galore Encore Challenge #2 -- Add a gem, glitter, Candy or any bling you fancy (I used lots of glitter.)
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper February Challenge -- Anything goes with patterned paper
Card Makin' Mamas (CMM81) -- Stack it Up - 3 or more layers
Crafty Hands 8th Challenge -- Heat or Dry Embossing (dotted background layer is dry embossed)
4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #182 -- Things with Wings
Fab 'n' Funky Challenge #204 -- Spots or Stripes
Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge TT022214 -- Anything goes with a twist - use 3 of something (I used 3 birds.)
A Gem of a Challenge #113 -- Spots and Stripes
Digi Galore Challenge -  Things with Wings

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope everyone has a wonderful week, and wishing a very Happy Birthday to little Miles!

Valentine for Someone Special

Happy start to a new week, everyone!  I created this card for the Love Challenge at The Squirrel and The Fox, which is being sponsored by Doodle Pantry.  Although you may find this an unusual card for Valentine's Day, I think it's a perfect fit for my niece as she's lovin' every minute of being a new grandmother.  She absolutely adores darling little Miles.

The images, sentiment and patterned digi paper I used to create this card are a combination of these Doodle Pantry sets:
The rocker with pillow and throw as well as the digi paper and sentiment are from the Quiet Rocking Chair set.  I then merged the teddy bear from the Vintage Bear COLOR plus set on top of the rocker.  The rocker was paper-pieced and I also added some shading and a bit of coloring to the image.  The heart die cuts were mounted to the card with dimensionals and overlap the edge of the card.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Girls Challenge 11 -- Anything Goes
Lexi Creations Challenge 109 -- Valentine's Day/Love
Casual Friday CFC127 -- Create a CAS product with an element that extends past the edge.
Digi Haven Happy Valentine's Day Challenge -- Valentine's Day - love/cherish/adore
Allsorts Challenge Week 245 -- Colors beginning with "B"  -- I used blues and browns.

Hope everyone has a great week and a very happy Valentine's Day.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Heart Sheep and Wagon Hellos

Hi All!  Valentine's Day is almost here, and I'm back today to share another Valentine's Day card.

The image on my card is a combination of 2 digital sets by Doodle Pantry -- Heart Sheep and Wagon Hellos 1, which I merged in a Microsoft Word document.  The elements I merged together are the pre-colored .png heart sheep from the Heart Sheep set; the pre-colored .png wagon front from Wagon Hellos 1; and a .png sentiment from Heart Sheep.

The starting point of my design is Papertake Weekly Challenge -- Sketchie Free For All.  I used Sketch #86.

I would like to enter my card in the following fun challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge -- Sketchie Free for All (Sketch #86)
Milk Coffee -- Valentine/Love Challenge
Allsorts Challenge Week 244 -- Love Is In The Air
A Gem of a Challenge #112 -- All You Need Is Love
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge 244 -- Love/Valentine
Animal Friends Challenge #11 -- Dots (must have an animal)

Pretty Peacock

Good Morning everyone!  I am so happy February is here... Not only are we another month closer to Spring, but Doodle Pantry has posted a fabulous new release!

Today I am sharing a beautiful new set called Pretty Peacock. For my card, I used one of the outline images and colored the image with Irojiten colored pencils.  Colors were blended with a Prismacolor blender pencil.  Although the pattern is not visible in the photo, the yellow part of the feathers is actually patterned digi paper.  To add a vintage feel, I used distress ink to sponge the background; added some beautiful gold embroidered paper; and a gold bow with bling.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
4 Crafty Chicks 4CCC #179 -- Anything Goes
Creative Moments Challenge 35 -- Anything Goes/Add Some Sparkle

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend and thanks so much for stopping by.
