S2GSC11 Twisted Thursday!

Welcome to another Twisted Thursday challenge and a chance to win your choice of a stamp from the Shirley's 2 Girls product line.  S2GDT member, Joy Stagg, has designed a great sketch for you to try this week.  And she has added such a fun and easy twist -- make a 4x4 card.  To participate:
  • Just make a 4x4 card following this week's sketch.
  • You are not required to use S2G stamps, but we would love to see them if you have them.

For this week's TT card,  I used the image and sentiment from the (SG216) Heart with Wings Set.  In order to fit my sentiment on the card, I mounted it to the top of the card using foam tape.  Just a bit of ribbon was added to the scallop circles, and this card was done!  Hope you like how it turned out!

CAS15 Black, White and Bright!

This is my first try at the Clean and Simple Challenge that is posted every Monday on SCS.  I was in my stamp room (supposedly to clean),  and then I saw this week's challenge (CAS15) -- to use black, white and one bright color to make a clean and simple card.  The cleaning never started......  Instead, I used my S2G  bird image (still sitting on my desk) and came up with a design using black, white and YoYo yellow.  Now I really need to clean my mess so I better get back to work!
Enjoy your day!
Supplies:  Stamps - SG48 Come Fly with Me!!! by Shirley's 2 Girls; Paper - SU! basic black, YoYo yellow and PTI white; Ink - Versafine onyx black; Accessories - glaze pens for coloring, goggly eye, small button, 1-1/2" scallop circle punch, 1-5/8" plain circle punch, and foam tape.

FS118 Buck-A-Roo

Debbie Corbori is today's Featured Stamper on SCS.  Her gallery is amazing.  This is the card I chose to CASE.
I also made a thank you card, and basically used the same design and color palette.  I changed the following:
  • I used a metal sentiment rather than a stamped sentiment.
  • I used a different image as well as DP .
  • Changed one of the scallop layers to a teabag folded layer.
You can read more about the challenge here.
I really enjoyed today's SCS challenge.  And really had fun with the teabag folding.  (Oops, I just noticed one of my teabag squares is going in the wrong direction!)
Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there in blogland!  Have a beautiful day!!
Supplies:  Stamps - Buck-A-Roo (SG78) by Shirley's 2 Girls; Paper - Rattle Digi DP by Shirley 2 Girls, PTI white, Me & My Big Ideas DP; Ink - Copic markers for coloring; Accessories:  clear EP, Nestabilities, Marvy scalloped punch, MM metal sentiment, foam tape and metal rhinestones.

Shirley's 2 Girls' First Ever Blog Hop!

The big day has finally arrived..... Shirley's 2 Girls is releasing 15 new images today!  These images focus on moms-to-be and babies, and they are so very fun, fresh and sweet.  To celebrate this release, we invite you to hop along with the S2G Ladies with Attitude as well as two of our Ladies with Attitude Guest Designers.
The hop begins at the Ladies with Attitude Blog where you will find the guidelines on how to win the Grand Prize.  If you started here on my blog, you need to hop on over to the Ladies with Attitude Blog and start at the beginning!  If you arrived here from Joy's blog, Crazy for Daisies, you are in the right place!
I am very excited to share two of the new S2G sets with you today.  The first set is called Onsie, SG71.  Besides the adorable 'Mom with Onsie' image, this set comes with three different sentiments.  I think it would be perfect for shower invitations, favors and fun cards for the soon-to-be new mom!  I paper pieced the image and couldn't resist adding glitter and pearls to mom's outfit.  Of course, the Onsie had to match!  What could be easier than to alter a MS bag for my shower favor, and the bookmark displays the 3 sentiments included with this set.
My second project uses the S2G set,  Cutie Patootie, SG70.  Isn't this the sweetest little baby girl image ever!  I love the binkie and think the 3 sentiments that comes with this set describes this image perfectly: Cutie Patootie!, Cute as a Bug, and Wonderful things come in wee... little packages!  I used a Spring fold for my card.  (Directions for this fold can be found on SCS.)  The little pocket created by the fold, could even be used to hold a birth announcement, message or invitation.  My little purse was created using a Sizzix Top Note Envelope die.  (Directions for the purse can be found on Stamping School.)  I altered my purse to include the three sentiments included with this adorable set!
Thanks so much for stopping by!  Before you go, please leave a comment here on my blog to be eligible for the grand prize. Then hop on over to the next blog,  Justine's blog, Cardiology-Cards from the Heart.

Here's my sample.  I used the sweet Stork Boy/Girl Set (SG209) by Shirley's 2 Girls.  A Nestabilities die was used to cut out my image, which I colored with Copic markers.  I also used a Copic marker to dye my ribbon pinwheel to match my color scheme.  I can't take credit for the pinwheel -- I found it at Jo-Ann's ages ago.  Don't you just love when you rediscover something in your stash and can alter it to work with a project?

SC224/Sharon's Stamp Simply #83 -- Thread it Through!

Happy Friday everyone!  It's been a great day..... the weather was beautiful, we went out to dinner, and I even got to stamp.
Don't you just love when you can combine two challenges into one card?  Here my take on this week's SCS sketch (SC224), which I combined with today's Stamp Simply challenge #83 to Thread it Through.  What fun!
Image and sentiment are from a set called Perspective Bird (SG49) available from Shirley's 2 Girls.  It's the perfect size for this week's SCS sketch.
Sharon's Stamp Simply #83 challenge is to thread something this week.  I used my retired SU! double circle punch to punch 2 holes at the top of my image.  Then I threaded my ribbon through the holes twice -- once front to back, then again back to front -- to form a faux knot.  Easy peasy!
Thanks so much for stopping by..... have a great weekend and I hope the weather is wonderful in your neck of the woods!
Supplies:  Stamps - Perspective Bird (SG49) by Shirley's 2 Girls; Paper - SU! elegant eggplant, barely banana, Bazzill swiss dots DP, PTI white; Ink - Versafine onyx black; Accessories - clear EP, alcohol markers for coloring, foam tape, bling - A.Muse creative candy, ribbon from Mikes and SU! double circle punch.

This is my take on this week's sketch (S2GSC7).  I turned the sketch and used the sweet S2G image called Sheep and Friend (SG605).  I also used some luscious S2G velvet rickrack.  For added interest, I distressed the very vanilla layers with my distressing tool; and the body of my sheep was paper pieced and attached with dimensionals.  For this week's twist, I added some little flowers I have had in my stash for eons.  This was a simple and quick creation.  Hope you like it!

New Easter Images

This is just one of the new and exciting ditigal images that is available from Shirley's 2 Girls.  It is called Bunny Eggroll (DG3), and it is so much fun to work with.  I just love the sentiment!!
After printing off the image on generic white, I colored my bunny and egg with Copic markers and cut it out.  After printing the image 2 more times....once on bashful blue and once on SU! DP....I paper pieced my image and assembled my card.  I wanted a postage friendly card so I limited my layers and embellishments.  I just added a few rain dots to balance my design.
If you like this image, you are going to love the rest of the digital goodies the S2Girls have created.  So head on over to the new digi page and treat yourself to a tour and some shopping!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you all come back and join us for Twisted Thursday!

Hippity Stair Step!

Finally, started my Easter cards!  About time don't you think.  I have been wanting to try a stair step card since I was first introduced to this fold by Vera last December.  it really is a fun design to play with and is very easy, too.  Here is the link to Vera's original creation.
My cute image is from a Shirley's 2 Girls stamp set called Hippity Hoppity.   Which reminds me, you really need to hop on over to S2Girls....new designs are hatching by the minute!  The S2Girls are now offering some great new designs as DIGI images. The new DIGI's include some of the cutest Easter images as well as a few whimsical bugs.  These are just the beginning of fun images to come! And, of course, the S2Girls still carry their terrific line of clear stamps...

This week, Karolyn has created my favorite sketch to date for the Twisted Thursday challenges!  You gotta try this one -- it's the bomb!  And this week's twist is to use another favorite, EMBOSSING.  Here are the deets:
  • You are not required to use Shirley's 2 Girls stamps, but if you have them, we'd love for you to use them.
  • Upload your card to your blog and/or favorite online gallery.  Please use keywords S2GSC5 and shirleys2girls.
  • Then, post a direct link to your card using Mr. Linky on Karolyn's Blog.  You can click on the Twisted Thursday logo in my sidebar which will link you directly to Karolyn's blog.

My sample uses a new release from Shirley's 2 Girls called Schnapps' Itch (SG59).  For the embossing twist, I did a couple of things. First, I heat embossed Schnapps' dog basket with clear embossing powder after going over it with a VersaMark pen. The dry embossing was achieved with Cuttlebug embossing folders and a Nestabilities dies. For more inspiration,  check out these fabulous creations by the rest of the Ladies with Attitude DT:
