New Doodle Pantry Release -- Kitten Trio

.

Good Morning!  It's the first day of August, and that means a new release at Doodle Pantry.  Laurie has added 8 new digital sets to the Doodle Pantry store, and my card showcases one of the new sets,  Kitten Trio.

I really had fun playing with this set.  To give the standing kitten image the look of a silhouette, I digitally paper pieced the kitten with one of the papers from Country Flavors Digi Paper Pack.  I also merged a bow from Hats and Things in front of the kitten. For dimension, I cut out a second bow and paper pieced it on top of the kitten with dimensionals.  I used some neglected dies from my stash to cut out the image and sentiment as well as embellish my card.  Dies used:  A Taylored Expressions border die, Spellbinders Labels 13 dies, and a Sizzix flourish die.  Other embellishments include a doily, a glittered chipboard flower I found in my stash, and a new SU! boutique detail.

I will be entering this card in the following  fun challenges:
Make My Monday -- Paper Piecing (I paper pieced 2 different ways by hand and digitally.)
Tammy Scrappin Corner Challenge #73 -- Use a Digi (I used a digital image, sentiment and digital paper.)
Pile It On #30 -- Anything Goes

Don't forgot to check the Specials Page for August when you stop by Doodle Pantry.  Also, from August 1 thru August 8, all products are 25% OFF when you use the coupon code AUG25OFF.

Thanks for stopping by and making my day.  Enjoy the rest of the week!

CSAYL Challenge #26 -- Inspiration Photo

Morning, everyone!  It's time for a new challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long.  The sponsor for CSAYL #26 is Bugaboo, and one lucky participant will win 7 digis of their choice!

We have an Inspiration Photo to inspire you this week:

For my card above, I took my inspiration from the colors, cake and the cute penguin cookie.  I used two Bugaboo images, Poppi Xmas Cane and Birthday Cake.  It was easy to make a Christmas cake... I just merged a candy cane over the cake's birthday candle.  Coloring was done with Copics and Prismacolor Markers.  Embellishments include glitter, fun flock, as well as a  ribbon and a rhinestone which have been in my stash forever!

Click HERE to go directly to the CSAYL challenge to see the rest of the team's wonderful creations and join in the fun.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:

Kitten Fun

Happy Monday!  I recently discovered Sami Stamps and couldn't wait to play with a new freebie, Kitten Fun.  I guess because I've been on a July Christmas kick, this image brought to mind many memories of sharing Christmas with our cats over the years.  You never knew what mischief  you would find in the morning when you weren't around to guard the Christmas tree.  Keeping that thought in mind, I merged a CDS ornament over the ball, added a compurter-generated sentiment, and this image was ready for Christmas!

I colored the image with Copics, colored pencils and pastels.  For some unexpected fun I added glitter to the cat's belly.  The background and Christmas tree were embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. My Christmas tree die cut was made using a die from Taylored Expressions. I also used Spellbinders dies to die cut the fishtail and image.

I would like to enter my card i the following challenges:
Sami Stamps Challenge #003 --  Curious Things
Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge - July (GCC0722) -- Embossing
Cut It Up Challenge #23 -- Christmas in July (I added die cuts made with Spellbinders and Taylored Expressions dies.)

Hope everyone has a great week and thanks so much for stopping by!

Vintage Lamppost

Hi all, it was blistering hot out there today -- perfect excuse to stay indoors and do some crafting.  The digital image on my card is from Doodle Pantry.  It's from a versatile new set, Vintage Lamppost; and there's still time to get it 'free with purchase' through July 24!

I used the outline image from the set and colored it with drawing and colored pencils.  I also added highlights with a white pastel pencil.  By just adding a holiday greeting and some greenery with a bow, I was able to use this set to make a   Christmas card.  For a fresh look, I used non-traditional colors.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Outlawz Greeting Card Challenge (GC0715) -- July 15 -- Christmas in July
Digi Makeover Challenge #97 -- Tic Tac Toe (I used 3 patterned papers, ribbon and die cuts.)
Pink by Design -- Christmas in July

Hope the heat breaks soon.  Stay cool and thanks for stopping by!

CSAYL Challenge #24 -- Color Combination

Happy Friday and time for another Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge.  The theme for this week's CSAYL Challenge #24 is a Color Combo -- use Kraft and combine with any other colors/patterns you would like.

This week's sponsor is Meljen's Designs.

For my card, I used Candy Cane Heart by Meljen's Design. In keeping with the challenge theme, I combined Kraft with traditional red and green Christmas colors and a touch of silver.  The image was printed on Kraft paper and colored with colored pencils. Although barely visible in the photo, I added lots of glitter and bling.  To coordinate with the silver accents, I added a metal Merry Christmas sentiment.

I will be entering this card in the following fun challenges:
LEJ Designs Challenge No. 61 -- Christmas in July
Try it on Tuesday -- Show us your Metal
'ABC' Challenge 36 -- Christmas in July
The Crafty Bloggers Network Challenge 13  -- Metal Magic just added something metal

Oz Meets Black Eyed Susans

Please scroll down to see my Black Eye Susan card which is the second card listed in this post.  Thanks!

Happy Monday and the start of a new month!  Today's the day Doodle Pantry is releasing a wonderful selection of new sets, and I am happy to share two cards using two of the new images.

My card above showcases the new Lil'l Oz Bundle Plus.  This set comes with individual images of the four characters, in addition to the group image which I used.  Plus this set has lots of other goodies including colored and outline versions of all the images, sentiments and digital papers.

For my card, I combined the colored group image with a sentiment from the set.  My layout was inspired by Sweet Sketch Wednesday 212.  I used a variety of die cut layers and made my own flower embellishments with the help of a flower punch.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Sentimental Sundays Challenge 161 -- All things digital; must have a sentiment
Dream Valley Challenge 60 -- Make your own flowers or embellishments

My next card showcases the new Black Eyed Susan set.  This set comes with both colored and outline images as well as sentiments and digital papers.
For this card I merged 3 outline images --2 single flowers and 1 flower with bud -- to create the grouping of black-eyed susans.  Images were colored with Copics, and I added green accents to the small leaves and stems with a colored pencil.  The centers of the flowers were filled with flower soft, and ribbon was threaded through a Spellbinders' Lacey Oval Die.  I also added black pearl accents.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Ribbons Challenge 50 -- Anything Goes with ribbon
The Craft Place -- Flowers

When you stop by Doodle Pantry to see all the new sets be sure to check out all the July specials.  Click HERE to see all the specials and pick up your coupon code.

CASYL Challenge #22 -- Photo Inspiration

Happy Friday!  Today starts a new challenge at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long and its a sweet one.  For this week's CSAYL Challenge #22we have a photo to inspire your creations..  Will you take inspiration from the colors, shapes, images or something else?  Can't wait to see what you create!

Our sponsor this week is Di's Digi Designs.

Two participants this week will win a $10 gift certificate to Di's Digi Designs.  Be sure to check out their adorable images.  You have until midnight EST on Wednesday, July 3, to link your Christmas creations.

Now about my card above...I drew my inspiration from the colors, shapes and cookie decorations. My decorations are images (that I merged) from two different CDS sets.  I used a combination of circular and square shapes.  Then embellished the edges of the white scalloped layers with glitter before adding red rhinestones to the holly berries and corners.  What fun!  Hope you jump start your Christmas creations and take part in CSAYL Challenge #22.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day.

Hats and Things with Hippo-Ray

Hi all!  I'm sharing a card today that I really had fun making. This cute hippo is from an older Doodle Pantry set called Hippo-Ray .  I updated this precious image by merging a bow and string of pearls from the new Doodle Pantry set, Hats and Things, on top of the dancing hippo.  I love Doodle Pantry's add-on sets.  They really are fun to use, and can give your images a whole new look.  The sentiment is from another DP set, Happy Sheep.

The digital images I used are precolored making for a quick and easy card.  I did add some of my own coloring and shading to the images.  Although it's barely noticeable in the photo, I cut out the ruffle from a second copy of Hippo-Ray and added it to my card with dimensionals.  Both the green check and floral digi papers are also from the Hippo-Ray set.  I used lots of different dies and punches to embellish my card -- Marvy flower punch, MS butterflies and leaves punches, Spellbinder rectangular die as well as a Papertrey scallop border die. Pearls were added to the centers of the flowers and butterflies.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Inky Impressions (IIC #113) -- Anything Goes
Bearly Mine Challenge #91 -- Flowers Galore
Paper Playtime Challenge 12 -- Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your day!

In addition to the challenge elements, I added digital paper piecing to the hats and scarfs, and embellished the image with fun flock, flower soft and lots of glitter.  Also the edges of the image panel were sponged with ink and glittered.  And the best part -- I have another Christmas card to add to my stash!

Quirky Stork

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Today's card uses the new Doodle Pantry digital set, Quirky Stork.  It's this month's featured set for Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 35 (DPDC35).  All participants who enter this challenge and create a project that follows the theme/rules will be emailed this set for free!  Challenge runs through June 24, 9 PM ( EDT).

For my card above, I merged the outline image from Quirky Stork onto some digi paper and added some digital paper piecing.  After printing the image, I colored it with Copics.  I glittered the gray shadows on the wings and bridge of the beak.  (Unfortunately, I couldn't get the sparkle to show in the photo.)   I used lots of layers and die cuts and finished with rhinestone embellishments.  IRL, there's lots of sparkle and shine!

I also will be entering this card in the following fun challenges:

Palo Verde

Morning everyone!   Today's the day Doodle Pantry is releasing a fabulous new selection of  digital images.  I used an image from the beautiful new Palo Verde set  to make this card.  This set comes with outline and pre-colored images as well as matching digi papers and sentiments.

For my card, I used the outline image which I colored with Copic markers. Although, it's barley visible in the photo, I sponged the edges of the image panel with chalk ink; then heat embossed with clear EP mixed with dazzling diamonds.  IRL, the edges have a nice sparkle.  I opted for a simple design to allow the blossoms and greenery to take center stage.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crafts 4 Eternity Recipe #126 -- Three elements with same letter (PEARLS, PAPER AND PALO VERDE BLOSSOMS)
Inspire Me Fridays 105 -- Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps Challenge 47 -- Make your Mark Coloring (COLORING WAS DONE WITH COPIC MARKERS.)
Rhedd & Rosie's Challenge #7 -- Blooming Lovely

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by!
