Snowman Bulb

Happy weekend, everyone.  Don't know about you, but I find it hard to believe this month is almost over.  Where did June go? 

I had so much fun with Susan's (aka rainy) June Sketch that I used it again to create another Christmas card.  This time I used Sassy Cheryl's Merry Christmas Snowman Bulb.  The background and scarf were digitally paper pieced.  Coloring was done with Copics and highlighted with a silver Spica pen. I also covered the bulb with glossy accents and sponged the edges of the image panel with soft sky ink.  Although it doesn't show in my photo, there is lots of sparkle and shine on both the papers and image.

Candy Cane Girl

Hello everyone!  I found this sweet image in Sassy Cheryl's bargain bin.  It's appropriately named Candy Cane Girl and inspired me to get a jump start on some Christmas cards.  I combined the image with a sentiment from Doodle Pantry and a Christmas tree made with a Taylor Expressions die.  I paper pieced the dress digitally before coloring  and shading the image with Copics.  I also added some color to the candy cane with a red glaze pen.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads!  Today I would like to share the card I made for my hubby.  I created the "stamp template" in Word using the table function; then inserted the sentiment and pre-colored vintage auto image in each cell.  Both image and digi paper are from Doodle Pantry's Vintage Auto Color Plus set.  Click here to see the Digital Faux Postage Stamp Tutorial posted back in July, 2010 on CDAC.

Quirky Cat

Hi everyone.  Today I have a card to share that incorporates some great challenges.  The pre-colored image is from Doodle Pantry's Quirky Cat set.  I combined the image with a Doodle Pantry sentiment from Rounded Wishes, which is a "free with purchase" set!  You got to check out this wonderful set of general sentiments including happy birthday, thinking of you and thank you.

The large dark blue flower is handmade --  I used Cuttlebug dies, which I've had forever and recently rediscovered.  Don't you just love when that happens?  I sanded the individual blossoms before layering them and scrunching them up.

Quirky Ostrich

Morning All.  If you are familiar with my blog, you know I am a big fan of dots and use them lots in my creations.  So, of course, I had to make a card using them for Sentimental Sundays Challenge #105 -- show us your dots .  In addition, this week's  challenge is being sponsored by Doodle Pantry.

This fun image and dotted digi papers are from Doodle Pantry's Quirky Ostrich.  I colored the image with Copics, and also added some digital paper piecing and embossing.

DPDC24 -- Kite Ants

Happy Saturday!  It's a beautiful summer day here in Columbia with sunny blue skies, mild temps and a lovely breeze.  Perfect weather for flying a kite!  With that in mind, this adorable digital image is from the featured set, Kite Ants, that all participants in the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 24 (DPDC24) will receive for free just for participating in the challenge.  So hop on over to the Doodle Pantry Blog and join in the fun.  For all the challenge details and prize information, click HERE.

Now about my card.  I used the outline image from Kite Ants to create my card.  I paper-pieced the kite digitally and colored the rest of the image with Copics.  Besides using the digi papers from Kite Ants, I also used red dotted digi paper from Doodle Pantry's  Balloon Ants set.  Dies and punches made quick work of layering and embellishing my design.  Finishing touches include a ribbon with bow and Prima flower.

Sea Shells

Happy Summer everyone!  Today is release day at Doodle Pantry, and Laurie has added a new selection of digital sets to the DP Store.  One of my favorites is Sea Shells.  I had so much fun with this set, I made 3 different samples to share with you today.

For my first card (pictured above), I combined one of the sentiments and one of the outline images from this set.  Image was colored with Copics; covered with VersaMark ink;  then heat embossed with clear embossing powder.

Next, I combined a different shell image with some of the outline ants from another Doodle Pantry set,  Ant Accents Color Plus, for a totally different look.  Images were also colored with Copics.  I also added some spirelli string art to the large scallop circle.

My last card showcases one of  the colored images as well as one of the digi papers that are also included with this wonderful set.   I did add some sand to the base of the image and pleated the panel of digi paper for a quick, clean look.

Happy Anniversary

Hi there!  Today I have a card to share that I made for dear friends who are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.  My image, sentiment and floral digi paper are from Doodle Pantry's Forget me nots Color Plus set.   I used the outline image from the set and colored it with Copics.  I embellished my design with handmade flowers made with the help of dies and punches.  Flower Soft was added to the centers of all the flowers.

I I spent some time in my craft room today trying to play catch up on some family birthday cards.  The card pictured above is one I made for my nephew, who is a huge Oriole Fan.  When I first saw this Gus Baseball image by Bugaboo, I couldn't resist... Sure hope Dan gets a kick out of it.

Welcome, Baby Hannah!

Happy Wednesday,  Here's a card welcoming baby Hannah.  She was born yesterday and weighed in at 81/2 pounds; mother and baby are doing fine!

For this card I combined a Z fold, lots of dies, and the Quirky Rooster and Hen set by Doodle Pantry -- this set comes with both outline and precolored images, sentiments and digi papers.  I copied and pasted the image onto some cloud digi paper from My Graficio before coloring the hen with Copics.  I also added some digital paper piecing and flower soft to the grass.  The yellow dotted paper is from another DP set, Balloon Ants Color Plus.

Crab Boat

Hi all!  Gosh, it seems like forever since I crafted.  Last week we had some renovations done and we spent the week moving stuff, then doing cleanup and putting everything back in place.  Almost finished, except for installation of a new dishwasher and some odds and ends.  Boy, will I ever be glad when everything is done!

The card I am sharing today uses an adorable image from Bugaboo Stamps called Crab Boat.  It's this week's freebie!  I paired the image with a sentiment and digi papers from Doodle Pantry.  I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone.  Just wanted to share a Mother's Day card for the newest mom in our family.  Baby Ben is almost two months now and is so darn cute; his new mom, Megan, is a natural!

For this card, I used a Doodle Pantry pre-colored image from the Cuddly Bear Color Plus set; and a sentiment from another DP set, Fancy Shoe.  Initially, I formatted the bear image in Photoshop Elements.  Then I pasted the bear twice and merged the images onto some digi paper in a Word document.

I also incorporated some wonderful challenges into my design, including a handmade flower which I made with a Memory Box fancy blossom die set and a MS leaf punch.  The sketch is from Sketches by Carly #55.

Midnight Madness May Monthly Sketch Challenge (MMSC138)

Happy May everyone and welcome to another monthly Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC138).  Below are this month's sketches.  It's easy to play along with us.  Just create a card/project using one or both of Priscilla's sketches as a guide.  It's your pick... make it CAS or fancy or somewhere in-between.  This month's added twist is to add a button/buttons to your creation -- this is  just for inspiration and not a requirement to play.

I used the Sweet Pea Digital Flowers image by "priscillastyles" for my take on this month's sketch.  The image was colored with Copics and a gold Spica pen.  Lots of embossing with a big bow and button finish my design.

A New Doodle Pantry Release and Challenge!

Little Lighthouse

Hi everyone!  The card I have to share today combines Doodle Pantry and CDS precolored digital images.  I love to mix and match sets and really had fun combining the lighthouse image and digi papers from Doodle Pantry's Little Lighthouse set, with one of the sailboats and seagulls from Smooth Sailing, by CDS.  The sentiment is from Doodle Pantry's Forget Me Nots set.

Quirky Parrots

Hi everyone!  Just a quick post today before I fight the crowds to do my Easter shopping.  The card I'm sharing today showcases the new digital Quirky Parrot set by Doodle Pantry.  It's the free set that all participants who play the Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge 22 (DPDC22)  will receive!  This challenge runs through April 24.  Sure hope you can join us!  If you can't play with us, this set will be available for purchase at Doodle Pantry after the challenge closes.  BTW, this set comes with both outline and colored images as well as digital paper and sentiments.  

For my card, I used 2 of the parrots that come with this set.  Both images were colored and shaded with Copics.  I paper- pieced parts of both images digitally as well as by hand.  I also used pastels to create the cloud background.  The dotted background paper comes from another Doodle Pantry set called Balloon Ants Color Plus.

Doodle Pantry Release and a New Challenge (DPDC22)

Happy April!  Sorry I've been absent.  My husband and I have both been under the weather.  We are now feeling better and I am delighted to be back to posting in time for today's Doodle Pantry release.  My cards above combine three new digital sets -- Ant Accents Color plus,  Birthday Accessories COLOR plus, and Birthday Party Paper Pack.  I really had fun playing with these sets; my head is just spinning with ideas as the possibilities are endless!

After playing with the Birthday Accessories and Birthday Party Papers, I couldn't resist combining the Ant Accents COLOR plus with another new fun set, Sombrero Hat.   For my card pictured below, I used the colored images, sentiments and one of the digi papers that comes with Sombrero Hat.
