Joyful Day

Morning Everyone!  Today, Doodle Pantry is sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches 254.  For my take on the sketch, I turned the sketch on its side and trimmed the bottom of the card's front before adding a scallop border to the edge.  The strip of white showing on the bottom is actually the inside the of the card.

The images, sentiment, and pink digi paper are from Doodle Pantry's Joyful Day set.  These elements were merged and grouped in a Word Document.  After printing, the grouped image was die cut with a Spellbinders oval die and framed with die cuts made with the help of an oval scallop and floral oval dies by Spellbinders.  Finishing touches include some Spirelli string art, leaves made with a Sizzix die and a MS punch, as well as a bow with rhinestone embellishment.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Cards Galore June Challenge -- Us a stamp or digi or your project
Dragonflies Dreams Challenge 6 -- Anything With Wings
The Crafting Cafe June Challenge -- Love and Marriage
Open-Minded Crafting Challenge #12 -- Something with Wings
Make My Monday Challenge -- Color Theme - Pretty in Pink

Hope everyone has a wonderful day.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Sweet Summer

Hi everyone.  Today I have a card to share using this week's Sweet Sketch Wednesday-2 16.  I merged images from 2 different Doodle Pantry  sets -- Mini Summer Trio and Flip Flops.  The bucket and shovel are pre-colored; and I grouped them with the outline flip flops after paper-piecing the insoles with matching paper from the Mini Summer Trio set.  I used the same paper for the panels in the sketch and also added a sentiment from Mini Summer Trio.  Now all I need is a trip to the beach for some summer fun!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Time Out Challenge #7 -- Summer with the optional twist of Flowers

Thanks for stopping by.  Enjoy the rest of your day and hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Things with Wings

Morning everyone!  This week Doodle Pantry is sponsoring the Sentimental Sundays Challenge #208, and the theme is Things with Wings.  For my take on the challenge, I used Doodle Pantry's A Tweet Hello set.  I really had fun coloring the sweet image with Copic markers, and paper piecing the image digitally with SU! retro fresh papers.  I also fussy cut an extra copy of the birdhouse's roof, and layered it on the image with dimensionals.  Lots of different die cuts and punched shapes were used to embellish my card.  The hello die cut was made with a Cuttlebug die I had forgotten about.... It's years old, and I'm so happy to have rediscovered it!  Cleaning up one's craft space sometimes turns up the best surprises!

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone!  Lots of birthdays are being celebrated by family and friends.  Here's a birthday card I made for my niece.  This time I went with a vintage look and bright colors.  The borders at the top and bottom of the card were created using a MS border punch and decorated with tiny pearls.  The flower embeliishments were also created with punches and decorated with pearls.  The image combines 2 Doodle Pantry sets -- floral branches from Genuine Love and a sentiment from Celebrations Sentiments; the image and frame were cut out with a Spellbinders label die.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:

Happy Graduation Two Ways

Hi everyone!  Just a a quick post tonight to share a couple of graduation cards -- one plain and the other a bit more dressed up.  Both cards use the same image and sentiment from one of my favorite SU!/MDS grad sets, Go Graduate Plus. I used school colors and colored the images with Copic Markers.

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying this wonderful time of year. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Mother's Day

Hi everyone.  Today's card is my first try at a new (to me) technique, called Punched Ombre.  This technique was created by Deb Valder.  I learned how to do it by watching one of Linda's top notch videos on Stamping School.

After completing the punched and embossed background, I only needed to add a small focal point to the card's front to finish my design.  I was able to get the look I was striving for by combining elements from two different Doodle Pantry sets -- pre-colored flowered branches from Genuine Love; and a Happy Mother's Day sentiment from Salutations Francaises.  The branches were arranged, grouped and some were even cropped In a Microsoft Word document before merging them together on top of a simple oval shape.  Just had to add the sentiment to the inside of the oval, before printing, die cutting and adding the digital focal point to the card's front.

I would like to enter my card in the following fun challenges:
Sassy Studios DTBST Challenge #228 -- Happy Mother's Day
Inspired by... #114 -- Mother's Day Theme
Outlawz Twisted Thursday Challenge TT050814 -- Anything Goes with a Die Cut and Punches twist

Enjoy your weekend and have a very Happy Mother's Day!  Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Cool Cash

Hi everyone!  Today's card combines two Doodle Pantry digital sets, Cool Cash and Tea-rrific -- I combined the outline piggy bank image and a sentiment from Cool Cash, with digi paper and flowers from Tea-riffic.

The piggy bank image was colored with Copic markers.  The inside of the ears were paper pieced, and I decorated the body of the pig with pre-colored flowers by merging them on top of the piggy bank image. I think this cute piggy bank image is perfect for decorating cards which include a check or cash.gift.  In this case, I added a pocket die cut to the front of the card and mounted the image on top.

Today, my card was inspired by an extra sentiment I found in my scrap bin.  It was perfect for combining with a new Spellbinders typewriter die I have been dying to use.  The sentiment is from a Doodle Pantry set, Heart Sheep.  I adhered the typewriter with message on top of a layer of burlap.  Embellishments include an epoxy flower and silver beads on the typewriter.

This card was a snap to put together!  Hope my husband likes it!

Window Box Tulips

Hi everyone,  hope you had a fun St. Patrick's Day.  We woke up to 8 inches of snow yesterday, so I guess you could say our day was white instead of green.   Don't know about you but I am so tired of the cold and snow... so I made a spring card to share today.

I combined two Doodle Pantry sets, Tulip Wreath and Window Box Wishes.  The tulips are pre-colored, but I did add a bit of color to the white tulips.  I also colored the window and flower box with Copics.  The valance was paper-pieced with digi paper from theTulip Wreath set.  I also cut out extra tulip blossoms and adhered them to some of the tulips in the window box with dimensionals for a 3-D effect.  To carry out the theme, I embossed the front of the card with a Framed Tulips EF by SU!
