Hats Off to You

Hi everyone!  Lots of birthdays, anniversaries and graduations are being celebrated by family members and friends in May.  So I have been busy trying to get a jumpstart on some of the cards I need to make.  Here's a graduation card for my nephew using the Mojo Monday Sketch 188 (MOJO188).  I also had fun playing with some new toys -- my new Cricut to make the mortarboard (which I paired with a Doodle Pantry sentiment from the Floral Hats set), and a new Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Have a fantastic day and thanks so much for stopping by!

A New DP Release and "Stock the Pantry" Challenge!

Good Morning, everyone!  Gosh where did April go?  I can't believe it's the 20th of the month already and time for a new Doodle Pantry release and challenge.  Also, there is a new Doodle Pantry "Release Bundle"  that Laurie is offering at a discount for a limited time.  To see the new digi sets click here; to check out the new "Release Bundle", click here.

Laurie has released some fabulous new digi sets, and I combined two of them for my sample. I used one of the colored images from the new set called Decadent Desserts Color Plus and one of the new digi papers from the Sweet and Salty Paper Pack.  Even though the milkshake image is pre-colored, I tweaked it with some Copics, a red Spica pen, and a Prismacolor poppy red pencil to match the digi paper.  I also coated the image with a layer of liquid glass.  Here is a peek of everything included with the new sets I used for my sample.

Starting today, the Doodle Pantry Blog will host a new "Stock the Pantry" challenge on the 20th of each month.  For the first  "Stock the Pantry" Challenge (DPSTP01), there is a theme -- to use buttons on your creation.  How fun!  You also must use a Doodle Pantry image -- There are many freebie images available here at the Doodle Pantry Store.  I hope you pick one up and play along with us!

For all the challenge details and prize information, please click here to go to the DP Challenge Blog.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Happy Crafting!

MMSC100 -- Flowers

It's Tuesday and time for another Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC100)!  I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of all the rain and am looking forward to the sunny, flower-filled days of May.  With that being said, I couldn't resist using two of my favorite digital flower images by  "priscillastyles" -- Vase of Flowers and the flower bouquet which I cropped from the "Man With"  set.

I created a frame and filled the Vase of Flowers with a textured background -- this was done in a Word document using "picture format".  I colored both images with Copics and glazed the flowers with a clear glaze pen.  The vase itself is covered with liquid glass.  I also punched 2 large scallop squares, 1 smaller scallop square, a circle, and small corners which I incorporated into my design.  Tiny black rhinestones and metal dots were used to embellish the flowers and corners.

Challenges:
Crafty Calendar Challenge -- April Showers Bring Forth May Flowers
Squigglefly Challenge #94 (SFC94) - How do you like to use your digis?
Woodware USA Challenge #23 -- Die Cuts/Punches

I hope everyone has a great day.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

MMSC99 -- Cattails

Hi there!  Just a heads up to let you know that this week's bonus sponsor of the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge is the Doodle Pantry.  Laurie is offering a great prize package with lots of goodies including a $10 Doodle Pantry Coupon.

Above is my take combining the Midnight Madness Sketch (MMSC99) with one of the DP images from Cattail Pond. For this card, I tried something different.  Rather than coloring the image by hand in traditional colors, I recolored the image in a Word document using 'picture formatting'.  'Picture formatting' was also used to shade the image.  For the next step, I opened another Word document; added a digi paper background; then pasted the recolored image on top. After cutting out the image, I coated it with a layer of clear, ultra microbeads.  I really had fun with this one!

Hope you have a great day and thanks so much for stopping by.

Supplies:  Digital Stamp -- Cattail Pond by Doodle Pantry; Paper - SU! tempting turquoise, chocolate chip, SU!-MDS digital DSP, generic white base; Ink - computer, Versamark; Accessories -- Sizzix embossing folder, Spellbinder dies, small square punch, slot punch, MFT doily die, buttons from my stash, clear ulta micobeads by pennwisearts, heat and stick powder, dimensionals.

Firely Farm

Yeah for Friday!  When I first saw this new pre-colored set by Doodle Pantry, I knew I had to make a card for my cousin who lives on a farmette.  Her chickens live in the cutest little 'house' complete with window boxes planted with flowers.  I don't think I could have found a more perfect image to send to a city girl turned farmer.

Below is a photo of all the goodies included with the Chicken Color set.

I hope you have a super fun weekend.  Thanks so much for stopping by!

MMSC98 -- Bicycle

Hi everyone.  Today starts a new term of designers at "priscillastyles" Store, and I would like to welcome two talented ladies to the team -- Peggy T. and Valarie F.

I used the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #98 (MMSC98) as the starting point for my card.  It's a perfect sketch for showcasing the new bicycle image created by "priscillastyles".  I had such a fun time working with this image.  I merged the bicycle onto some of my favorite cloud digi paper; then colored my image with Copics and a yellow glaze pen.  Of course, I couldn't stop there.... I added some Jolee's grass, a lace rosette that I made, and a bunch of punched flowers with bling.

I kept my design simple and colored the hat with Copics.  The edges were sponged with SU! blush blossom ink.  Papers include PTI select white, PTI dotted and SU! bashful blue.  PTI ribbon, a button, and rhinestones from my stash finish my design.  This was a quick, clean and simple card to make... my favorite kind!

Snowman Cheer

Happy weekend, everyone!  Well, I switched gears and created my first Christmas card for 2011.  I was inspired by the savvy card makers that create Christmas cards year round.  Rather than wait until the last minute crunch (Something I did last year and don't want to repeat.), my intentions are to create a card a week for my stash of holiday cards.

My image is a new one (for me) from the Clear Dollar Store called Snowman Cheer.  I love snowman images and when I saw this one I couldn't resist.  I used the pre-colored image that comes with this set as well as the matching paper.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
CCEE Stampers (CCEE1112) -- Create a Christmas/Winter holiday card.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and many thanks for taking the time to stop by.

MMSC96 -- Potted Flowers

Hi everyone,  It's time for another Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC96), and my take on this week's sketch. The 'Potted Flowers" image is by "priscillastyles" Store.  It's new and perfect for spring.  I also think it works well with the sketch.

My image as well as the tiny pearls on the potted flowers were colored with Copics to match my monochromatic color scheme.  I used a Marvy punch to make the large flower, two different Sizzix dies to die cut the leaves, and finished them with store-bought pearl embellishments.

Flower Trio

Good Morning and TGIF!  This spring image is called Flower Trio and was created by "priscillastyles" for the CDAC freebie challenge.  When I saw this image, my first thought was inchies... Something I haven't played with in a long time.

First, I printed the Flower Trio image twice.  I used one of the images to cut apart the flowers and mount on black inchie board ; I then mounted the inchies on the second copy of my image.  Copics were used for coloring.  IRL, you can see the added dimension. Besides the flowers, embellishments include pearls, Flower Soft and homemade crinkle ribbon.

This card combines 3 challenges on CDAC
Freebie Digi Challenge (cdacfdc19) -- I used one of the free digis available for the challenge.
Color Challenge (cdaccc19) -- Use shades of purple, lilac and pink.
Embellish Challenge (cdacec19) -- Use 2 or more flowers on your creation.

I hope you have a great weekend.  Thanks so much for visiting and Happy Crafting!

Easter Egg Sheep

Happy Thursday, everyone.  It's a miserable rainy day here, but a much better alternative than ice and snow!  My card today uses the sweet Easter Egg Sheep Color Set.   This time I used the sweet pre-colored sheep.  Isn't it the cutest?  This set has the most darling images, sentiments, and designer papers.  It is one of the new releases from the Doodle Pantry and comes in both pre-colored and uncolored versions.

Well, I can't put it off any longer... I need to start getting the paperwork organized so I can get the taxes started.  Something I hate more than going to the dentist.  Hope you have a great day and the sun is shining in your neck of the woods!

Easter Blossoms

Hi all!  Just a quick post today, as I'm heading out to the lab for some blood work.  I made this card for the Clean and Simple Guest Designer Challenge on Splitcoast-- use a silhouette stamp.  My image and DSP are MDS -- Easter Blossoms and Springtime Vintage paper.  Since I do not have the My Digital Studio software by SU!, I merged the image and DSP in Word. I also used Word to format and change the color of my image.

It doesn't  get easier than this -- quick, clean and simple; and I am thrilled with the results.

Enjoy your day and thanks so much for stopping by!

MMSC94 -- Bird Cluster

Good Morning!  Here's my take on today's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #94 (MMSC94).  Since I can't wait for Spring, I thought I'd jumpstart the season with something soft and springy.    Besides the gorgeous weather, the return of all the birds and flowers are among my favorite things of the season...so I tried to incorporate both into my design.

My image is a new one from the "priscillastyle" Store.  It has just the look I wanted for this card.  Coloring was done with Copics, and I heat embossed the birdies with clear embossing powder.  I embellished my card with the help of punches and dies; finishing touches include pearls and a big flower.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
Stamp Something -- March Digi Day  -- Use something digi ( All pattern papers as well as my image are digital.)
Crafty Purple Frog Challenge -- Things with Wings
Delightful Challenges -- Welcome Spring

Supplies:  Stamps -- Bird Cluster by "priscillastyles" Store; Paper -- SU! digital designer series papers, PTI select white, generic white base; Ink -- computer, Copic Markers for coloring, VersaMark pen; Accessories -- clear EP, SU! top note die, Sizzix branch w/leaves die, MS leaves and bird punches, pearls and flower from my stash.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Cattails

Happy Friday!  I am really looking forward to this weekend since the weather is suppose to be nice.  It's been a rainy/windy day here, so instead of running around doing errands and getting soaked, I decided to play some challenges. My image is from the Cattail Pond set recently released by the Doodle Pantry.  I love this image because it can be used for just about any occasion and isn't gender specific.

I printed my image directly on some Doodle Pantry digi paper.  Coloring of the cattails was done with Copic Markers, and I added some shading with pencils and gamsol.  I kept my design pretty simple and incorporated the following challenges:

Fun at Fairy Knoll Challenge 39 (FK#39) -- Feeling a Little Green
Tellen's Place -- Buttons

Supplies:  Stamps - Cattail Pond set by the Doodle Pantry; Paper - Digital kraft gingham by the Doodle Pantry from the Juicy Strawberry set, SU! crumb cake and whisper white, PTI select white and bitty dots in green; Ink - computer, Copic Markers, pencils w/gamsol; Accessories - Spellbinders die, corner rounder punch, PTI ribbon and a button from my stash.

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend; thanks for visiting and happy crafting!!
