Tulips in a Bottle

Hi All,  When I saw this week's Sweet Wednesday Sketch 194-5, I couldn't wait to play.  It's very clean and quick, perfect for whipping up some Easter cards.  I combined  2 Doodle Pantry sets, Tall Tulip and Bottle & Jars, to create a vase of tulips for Easter. 

I colored and shaded the bottle with Copics before coating with Liquid Glass and a sprinkle of glitter.  Unfortunately, the photo doesn't show the dimension or how sparkly the bottle is.   I also used Copics to add some coloring and shading to the pre-colored tulips to make them my own.

Bandaids and Tissues

Hi All!  Here's a get well card I just finished using two new sets from Doodle Pantry. -- Bandaid and Soup and Tissues. The Bandaid set is a new freebie and includes both outline and colored images, sentiments and digi paper.  I used one of the digi papers from this set for my background layer, and also paper pieced it to the borders of the tissue box... (This image is from the Soup and Tissues set.)  Coloring of the tissues was done with Copics.  I also added some sponging (blush blossom ink).   

I used the bandaid image to spell out the word, HEAL, and merged it over a larger bandaid.  After grouping them together, I merged them in front of  the tissue box.

Off to make some homemade chicken soup.  Will be delivering the soup and card to a neighbor, who just came home from the hospital.

Hoppy Easter

Hi everyone, sorry It's been a while, but the past few days have been filled with preparations for company, football, and celebrating the Ravens' Superbowl win.  Life is finally back to normal, and I have a fun project to share with you today.  

Since I've been yearning for Spring, I thought I would get a jumpstart on Easter projects.   This month, Laurie updated one of my favorite Doodle Pantry sets, Cozy Gazebo. Click here to see my original post .  

The new updated color set is called Gazebo Color Plus, and it includes both colorized and outline images, as well as digi papers.  I merged the colored gazebo with digis from other DP sets --  bunny image and sentiment are from Easter Bunny and the Easter eggs are from Quirky Bunny.  What fun!

Love Star

Happy February!  Today's release day at Doodle Pantry, and I am thrilled to share a card I made using the new Love Star set.  This is the third in a series of decorative star images that Laurie has created.  I love each and every set and hope she continues to make more for other holidays and seasons.

I colored the image with Copic and added glitter to the central heart.  The digi papers that I used for the star and bow are also from the Love Star set.  The sentiment is from SU!/MDS.

Jar with Heart Candy

Hi everyone!  Today I had fun playing with my stash, and have a card to share inspired by some fun challenges.  For this card, I combined images from two different digital set by Doodle Pantry--  Bottles & Jars and Heart Candy Ants.  

Before merging the candies in the jar, I colored each heart  with the help of Microsoft Word.  Then I merged the sentiments on top.  After coloring the jar's lid with Copics, I cut the image out and layered it on top of the heart die-cut with dimensionals.  Embellishments include a Prima flower, lace and a sentiment from MDS.

Mary Kate's Hat with Heart Dangle

Happy weekend, everyone!  Well, it's time to start making Valentines so I spent part of the day playing with some sweet digital sets -- Mary Kate's Hat from The Digi Garden and Heart Dangle from Clear Dollar Stamps' Dangle set.  I love how these two sets look merged together.  I added some digital paper-piecing:  coloring was done with Copics, colored pencils  and a pink souffle pen.  The sentiment is from Doodle Pantry's Love Sentiments, and the cloud background is from My Grafico.

Float yer Goat on Cattail Pond

Don't know about you, but  I'm so ready for summer!  One good thing about crafting, is that you can make it any season
you like; and I chose summer today to chase away the winter blues.  To make this fun scene,  I merged two colored Doodle Pantry images from these sets -- Cattail Pond Color Plus and Float yer Goat!  My sentiment is computer generated.  Embellishments include a punched sentiment, die cuts, flower soft, souffle pen accents, as well as a prima flower and ribbon.

A New Baby!

New Beginning are always exciting especially when it's a new baby!  Tomorrow the family is gathering for a baby shower for my niece who is expecting her new little boy in February.  I thought this image by Deidre Mosher Designs would be perfect to make a card to go with my shower gift .  I colored the image with Copics and paper pieced the maternity top.  I incorporated some new dies -- Spellbinders Wonky Reckangles and a Die-Namics Fishtail Flag -- into my design; embellishments include pearls and daisy buttons.

Happy Saturday!  Just a quick post today to share a card I made to beef up my stash of birthday cards.  I couldn't resist using this fun Stella image from Bugaboo to send some birthday smiles.  Coloring was done with Copics and colored pencils. Also did some digital paper piecing and added glossy accents to the lenses of Stella's glasses.

Vintage Tub

Happy Friday!  I have a fun card to share today that showcases a new Doodle Pantry digi -- Vintage Tub.  I thought it would be fun to put something in the tub so I merged one of my favorite DP birdies -- Bird Bath Joy Color Plus  with the vintage tub.  Coloring of the tub was done with Copics and a silver Spica pen.  I also added some digital piecing to the towel.  Although it's not visible in the photo, I colored the bubbles with Copics; then went over the bubbles with clear dimensional glaze for some sparkle and shine.

The birdie is a pre-colored image -- to make it my own I shaded the wings and body with Copics and a silver Spica pen.  The background digi papers are from DP's Baby Basics Color Plus.

Doodle Pantry Release

Happy Saturday!  Well, it's the first of the month and time for another new release by Doodle Pantry.  Laurie has added some great new sets to the store, and I chose to play with the new Bottles and Jars.  This set is  a joy to work with as the creative possibilities are endless.  

Since I love to combine sets, I couldn't wait to fill the jar with peppermint candies from DP's Peppermint set. The candies were colored digitally. The label on the jar was made by combining an oval shape with a sentiment from DP's Candy Cane Ants.  I then colored the jar's lid with Irojiten colored pencils before cutting out the candy jar.   Embellishments include twine and a bow; a sentiment from DP's Nutty for You, which I punched out with a small tag punch; and tiny holly leaves and a rhinestone berry from my stash.  I have to say this was a lot of fun to make!

Next up is a gorgeous new set called Vintage Ornaments.  For a limited time this set is free w/purchase from December 1 through December 8.

Better Not Pout

Hi All!  I have two cards to share today that uses one of my favorite Santa images -- Sassy Cherly's  Better Not Pout Santa.  I was really surprised that a pre-colored digi image was included with the set. Although I love to color, I opted to use the pre-colored image to create some quick  and easy Christmas cards for my (seriously lacking) stash of holiday cards..  I merged the image on the first card on top of dotted digi papers from My Grafico,  For the second card, I also merged the image over digi paper -- this time I used holly digi paper from Doodle Pantry.

Although it's hard to see in the photos, I added lots of sparkle with glitter and a silver Spica pen.  I'm pleased with how these turned out and hope you like them too!

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the States.  Sorry I've been MIA -- I've been under the weather the last couple of days.   Fortunately, I'm feeling better in time to celebrate the holiday.

The card I'm sharing tonight showcases the beautiful image and digi paper from Doodle Pantry's Winter Star.  This set comes with both outline and colored images.  To make my card, I used the colored image and merged it on top of one of the digi papers from the same set.  I also added dimension by cutting out parts of the image and layering them on top.

Reindeer Trio

Hi All!  Hope everyone is enjoying their day.  Today I thought I would share one of the projects I have been working on.  Since I find teenagers very hard to buy for, I opted to dress up cash for the teens on my Christmas list.  Above is one of the money holders I made.

The fun image is Reindeer Trio by Bugaboo Stamps.  My computer-generated sentiment was merged on top of the image. Sentiment on the inside is by MDS/SU!. Coloring was done with Copics.  Although it's not apparent in the photo, I added glitter to the stars and glaze to the Christmas ornaments.  Just need to add a name tag and this one will be ready for gifting.

Little Deer

Morning all.  Today I have a card to share that was a lot of fun to make.  My starting point was the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch #179-109.  All images, digi papers and sentiment are from Doodle Pantry.  I combined the sweet pre-colored deer from Little Deer with a hat from Santa Accessories Color Plus .  After grouping these images together, I merged them in front of a Snow Globe that I created and formatted in a Word document.  Next, I merged the sentiment in front of the snow globe's base.  

The checkerboard background was created by combining 2 different digi papers from these sets -- Holly Stag and Little Deer. Embellishments include Flower Soft for "snow", and a jute ribbon and bow that I finished with a button from my stash.

Sparkling Winter Hills

Good evening, everyone.  Just a quick post tonight.  I have another card to share using PTI's Winter Hills. For this one I added lots of sparkle with the help of glitter.  Copics used to color and shade the image .  I also sponged the sky with Midnight Muse ink.  Then I added a coat of VersaMark to the sky before heat embossing with clear embossing powder.

Winter Hills

Happy Saturday and the night we turn back the clocks... I must confess that I am not a big fan of the short days of winter, but I do love using snowy scenes for Christmas cards.  This one is perfect for a friend who owns a home in Garrett County, Maryland where they received 2-3 feet of snow as a results of Hurricane Sandy.  Yikes!!!

Now don't be shocked, but I actually did some stamping -- this snowy scene is from Papertrey Ink's Winter Hills set.  I used Copics for coloring, and added a touch of pastels to the sky and dots of glitter for snow.
