Happy Father's Day!

Happy Weekend!  Here's a Father's Day card I made for my husband.  I used Sketch 112 by i {heart} sketches with a twist.  The fun image is Super Birdbrain by From The Heart Stamps.  This is a great set -- besides the fun image there are lots of sentiments included.

For my take on the sketch I changed things up a bit by using a square base rather than a rectangle.  I merged the image on top of digital paper; colored the image digitally; then die cut.  To make the sentiment panel, I first cut out the sentiment; added a half circle and a gold star before mounting the sentiment beneath the image.

Prickles Says Hello

Hi everyone.  I'm finally posting my card for The Digital Stamp of Month Challenge by From the Heart Stamps.  June's Free Stamp of the Month for this progressive challenge is Prickles Says Hello and it's the cutest!

 I digitally colored and paper pieced the image; and also merged the image on top of a digital striped background.  Since the colors I used are bright and bold, I kept the design simple and only added a few embellishments including a paper bow and buttons.

Twain Quips and Gazania

I am happy to announce that Doodle Pantry is releasing 4 new digital sets today -- including Twain Quips,  I used one of the quips as the main focus of my card; I think it works as a wonderful sentiment for many occasions. The bright and colorful background digi paper as well as the flower are both from Gazania Color Plus set, released earlier this year.  

I cut an extra flower out by hand and added it to card with pop dots for extra dimension.  I also included a die cut swirl and punched leaves.  Finishing touches include rhinestones and sequins.

Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge #6

Hi All!  Just a heads up to let you know that a new AIMPDC #6 has been posted on the Doodle Pantry Blog .  My card for the challenge combines 2 Doodle Pantry sets, Dahlia Color Plus and Basil Plant Color Plus.  Sentiment is from Baking Bear Updated.

I merged the outline Dahlia in front of the pre-colored Basil Plant image.  The dahlia blossom and bud were paper-pieced digitally.  I also colored the dahlia's bud and stems digitally.  Although barely visible in the photo, I cut out parts of the dahlia image and layered them on the card with pop dots for extra dimension.

Thimble Bouquet

Still trying to catch up on some challenges, and the i {heart} sketches and Outlawz challenges are among my favorites.

For this card, I used i {heart} card sketches with a twist - No. 110.  The image is Thimble Bouquet by From The Heart Stamps. I colored the image digitally and paired the image with a Doodle Pantry sentiment.

Stella Says Sketch Challenge 309

Hi everyone.  Just a quick post tonight to share my card for the Stella Says Sketch Challenge 309 over at Catch the Bug before I miss the deadline.  I used the fun Bugaboo digi image, Fried Chicken, which I colored digitally.  I paired the image with a Doodle Pantry sentiment and Go Wild digii paper.  I also paper-pieced the sunglasses with the same digi paper.

Apple Blossom Birds

Hi All!  Here's my card for May's FTHS Digital Stamp of the Month Challenge.  For this month's progressive challenge, the From The Heart Stamps set is Apple Blossom Birds.  Besides the image, the set includes a wonderful selection of sentiments including the one I die cut and added to the card with pop dots. 

I colored the sweet birds and flowers digitally and paper-pieced the branch.  Then I merged the image on top of SU!/MDS digi paper in a Word document.  I also cut out (the old fashioned way) three extra apple blossoms and adhered them to the card with pop dots for extra dimension.   Finishing touches include a die cut border and a Jollee's Botique fence embellishment.

Snowy Egret

It's good to be back!  Sorry I've been MIA... My husband was hospitalized  at the beginning of the month. I am thrilled he is now home, doing well and things are pretty much back to normal.

Finally spent some time in my craft room and created this card using the new Doodle Pantry set, Snowy Egret.  I combined one of the pre-colored images with a sentiment and digi papers from the set to create this quick and easy card.

Hamlet Pigwit Being Shy

Hi All, Here's my take on I {heart} card sketches with a twist #No 106.  This week's twist is to use a two word sentiment.  For my card, I combined two From the Heart Stamps -- Hamlet PigWit Being Shy and Spring Fence -- to create the garden scene. The two word sentiment is a die cut. 

I paper-pieced the fence with grunge wood digi paper from Doodle Pantry.  Both paper-piecing and coloring were done digitally.

Flower Ladybug Love

Just a quick post tonight to share the card I made to enter in Bugaboo's April Bingo Challenge.  I used the bingo items listed in the first row across:  flower theme; a button and a Bugaboo image.

The cutie patootie image I used is Bugaboo's Flower Ladybug Love.   I colored the image digitally and added an anniversary sentiment.

Rubber Boots

Hi everyone!  Every spring when the temps warm up and we get lots of rain, tiny sugar ants manage to find a way into my craft room through the weep holes in the window tracks... I'm not a big fan of ants except for the fun digi kind!  So after a morning debugging the area, I was inspired to create a spring card using two Doodle Pantry sets -- Rubber Boots and Ant Accents Color.  

The rubber boots image was paper-pieced and colored digitally.  Although not visible in the photo, the flowers were glazed and sprinkled with glitter for added sparkle and shine.

Warbler and Magnolias

Hi All!  I'm back today with my take on this week's i {heart} sketches with a twist No. 105.  I turned the sketch on its side and kept my design very simple to allow the beautiful image to take center stage.

I used a new From The Heart Stamps image called Warbler and Magnolias.  I merged the image on top of grey dotted paper and colored the image digitally.  Then finished my design with a daisy embellishment.

Monkey Peeps

Hi all!  Today's card was a fun card to make and much easier to put together than it sounds in my description.  To make the fun scene, I combined images from the following Doodle Pantry sets:

The monkey image is from Monkey Peeps.

The palm tree I used is from the Lil Gorilla Jungle. 

The sand is from the Palm Tree set. I cropped the sand from one of the images, resized the sand portion, and added texture to create a new 'larger' sand base.

The tropical fruit and flower image is from the Aloha set.  

To create the scene, I first pasted the palm tree in a Word document.  Next, the"new" larger sand base was pasted on top of the palm tree. Then the monkey was pasted behind the palm tree.  Finally, I placed the tropical fruit and flower on top of the sand.  After all the images were merged/grouped together, I added the sky background behind the images.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter; I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday weekend.  This cute image is from Bugaboo Stamps and is called Flower Critters -- Bunny. The image was colored digitally. I combined the image with a sentiment from MDS by SU!; and embellished the card with a handmade flower.

Ants in My Pantry Digital Challenge 4

Happy April!  Today starts a new Ants in My Pantry Digital Challenge (AIMPDC4) on the Doodle Pantry Blog.  The theme is anything goes and is not limited to Doodle Pantry images; you can use any company's image as long as it's digital.  The challenge runs through April 24; and the random winner of the $15 Doodle Pantry gift certificate will be announced on the 26th of the month. 

With Easter this coming weekend, I thought I'd share one of the Easter cards I made using a maze from the Doodle Pantry's set, Mini Mazes Spring.  I just added a fuzzy pink nose and layered the bunny maze on top of digi paper from Easter Fun Digi Paper Pack.  The sentiment is from another DP set, Easter Egg Ants.

Easter Trio

Hi all!  Here's my card for From the Heart Digital Stamp of the Month Challenge for the month of March.  This is a progressive challenge, meaning you need to play along to receive the next image for free.

Easter Trio is From the Heart Stamps set this month.  All three images as well as the sentiment I used are among the goodies this set includes.  After paper-piecing the cloud background digitally and adding digital coloring, I printed the image twice, so I could cut the images out and adhered them to the image panel with foam dots for added dimension.

Card Cut Falling Ants

Morning everyone!  Just a heads up to let you know a new cutting file called Card Cut Punctuate It has been added to the Doodle Pantry shop.  Since this new set includes both SVG and png files, I  was able to combine one of the png frames with an older DP set, Falling Ants Combo, to make the card shown above.

 

I  changed the colors and did some digital paper-piecing of the frame.  I also digitally colored the Falling Ants image to match.

Lucky Birdbrain

Just a quick post tonight as I am making the challenge deadline by the skin of my teeth. Here's my take on i {heart} Card Sketches -- Sketch 100 with a twist: CAS (clean and simple).  Congratulations to Faith and her team for reaching the 100 mark!

The image I used is one of my favorite FTHS -- Lucky Birdbrain Chick.  Yep, I'm a birdbrain addict.  I can't help it... they make me giggle.

For my card,  I went with the twist and kept my design clean and simple.  Besides the button, I added some flower soft to the base of the image.
