DPDC17 -- Maize Corn


Good Morning, everyone,  It's the fifth of the month and time for another Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC17) on the Doodle Pantry Blog. The theme is use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment).  If you don't have a Doodle Pantry image, just go to the "freebies page" and download one for free.   To view the challenge details , prize information, and to see this month's free digital image that all challenge participants will receive,  click here.  

For my card, I used images from the Maize Corn set.  I merged 3 ears of corn to form a swag, and with the help of Copics colored the ears to look like Indian corn.  Then I went over my image with a VersaMark Pen and embossed with clear embossing powder.  To finish my design, I added 2 jewelry spacers, and made an embellishment for the 'corn swag' that started out a single stalk of wheat by Jolee's.  I added some hemp behind the wheat and tied the elements together with some linen thread to give it more dimension... Just had to attach it to my card and I was done.

    The Indian corn is so realistic (I love Indian corn) but when you seel all the little details and embellishments you know it is a "WOW" card.

    Love it, this is such a great pieced image and great coloring. It really reminds me of Fall. Stores and homes around here have Maize Corn hanging for decorations for months. Love it and thanks for joining us at Dolce Stamps and Cards Fall Color Challenge.
