CSAYL Challenge 30 -- Inspiration Photo

Our challenge this week, CSAYL30, is an inspiration photo.

Good Morning!  It's Friday and time for another Christimas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge (CSAYL30).  This week we have a photo inspiration challenge to inspire your creations.

For my card, I took my inspiration from the fun cupcakes and candy canes.  I combined red and green accents with digi papers from our sponsor's (Bearly Mine Designs) Chirstmas Wishes set.  Besides using the Christmas Wishes papers for my background layer and fishtail, I also used some of the patterned papers to paper-piece the cute Bugaboo image, Christmas Cupcake - candycanes.

After paper piecing the image, I layered the cupcake image on top of the dotted Christmas Wishes paper before printing.  I finished my design with a sentiment  from the SU-MDS set, Homestyle Goodies.  The tiny embellishments that I added to the fishtails were made by adding rhinestones to the centers of jewelry spaces.

Water Ottter

Hi everyone!   I finally got to play with the adorable Doodle Pantry Water Otter digital set.  Coloring was done with Irojiten pencils, Copics and pastels.  I also added some paper piecing.  Various dies were used to create this card including a Sizzix flip it die.

CSAYL Challenge #28 -- Color Combos

Morning everyone!  Christmas Stampin' All Year Long is back with a new challenge this week to get you in the holiday spirit.  First up, our sponsor for this challenge is Fred She Said with a $10 gift certificate to the store for one participant.  

The theme for  this week's CSAYL Challenge #28 is COLOR COMBOS

Choose one of the color combinations used by the design team for your creations.  

For my card I used a blue, white and silver color combo with touches of red for pop.  The Fred She Said image is Catchin Flakes.  I also used Catchin Flakes digi papers for the background layers and to paper piece the clothing.  Coloring was done with Copics.  The silver tree was created with the help of a Papertrey Ink die and decorated with Tim Holtz tinsel.

Pumpkin Peeps

Hi everyone. Todays starts a new challenge on the Operation Write Home Challenge Blog.  This month the challenge is sponsored by Doodle Pantry and it's a sketch... My favorite kind of challenge, and it's a fun and easy sketch to work with!  I used one of the precolored images and a sentiment from Doodle Pantry's new Pumpkin Peeps set to create my card using OWH sketch #184.

New Doodle Pantry Release -- Kitten Trio

Good Morning!  It's the first day of August, and that means a new release at Doodle Pantry.  Laurie has added 8 new digital sets to the Doodle Pantry store, and my card showcases one of the new sets,  Kitten Trio.

I really had fun playing with this set.  To give the standing kitten image the look of a silhouette, I digitally paper pieced the kitten with one of the papers from Country Flavors Digi Paper Pack.  I also merged a bow from Hats and Things in front of the kitten. For dimension, I cut out a second bow and paper pieced it on top of the kitten with dimensionals.  I used some neglected dies from my stash to cut out the image and sentiment as well as embellish my card.  Dies used:  A Taylored Expressions border die, Spellbinders Labels 13 dies, and a Sizzix flourish die.  Other embellishments include a doily, a glittered chipboard flower I found in my stash, and a new SU! boutique detail.
