Candy Cane Ants

Well, we are down to the wire folks; are you ready?  I'm not quite done but almost... Forgot to buy the candy canes that I always tie on top of packages, ugh!

This is the last of my Christmas cards, yeah!  This card is one that I will be including with gifts that we exchange with family on Christmas Eve.  The pre-colored image and sentiment are from the sweet Candy Cane Ants set by Doodle Pantry.  Although you can't see it in the photo, I added shading with Copics and used a clear glaze pen on the ants and candy cane. Sorry the ants appear so dark in the photo. I guess my camera was having a bad day!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Enjoy the rest of your day.  If I don't see your before Sunday, have a wonderful Christmas.

Christmas Cupcakes

Hi everyone!  Just a quick post today showcasing a card I made using the cupcake images from Outlawz Creative Freebie Challenge (CFC1218).  Aren't these cupcakes the cutest!  I combined the images with a sweet sentiment from the Doodle Pantry set, Candy Cane Ants.  The sketch I used is my take on Clean and Simple Stamping (FTL171).  Hope it was okay to change the shape of the image panel.

Off to start dinner... These cupcakes are making me hungry!  Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Dasher

Happy Saturday, everyone.  Only one week to go...  As I was addressing my cards, I realized I was about 10 cards short.  Today, I was delighted to receive cards from 3 friends I haven't heard from in ages.  So, of course I have to send a reply.  It looks like a bomb went off in my craft space -- living proof that the Christmas card crazies are alive and well in my house.

Two cards that I am sharing today uses one of my all-time SU! Christmas favorites -- Dasher.  I have both the rubber and MDS digital stamps.  For today's cards I used the digital so I could quickly get good saturation, resize and change color.  Keeping fingers crossed that I will finish the rest of my cards this weekend, cause I still have packages to wrap!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a holly jolly week!

Ornament Holders

Hi everyone,  I finally finished the packaging for the ornament sets I made a while ago.  I used Doodle Pantry's 12 Days of Christmas Color Plus set.  (If you want, you can click here to see a picture of the matching ornaments .)

If you are like me and running low on time, I highly recommend decorating store-bought packaging.  In this case, MS mini bags came to my rescue.  I just layered various diecuts and punched layers on twinchies, then added them to the front of the bags to make them my own.  Silver cord and store-bought embellishments were then added to the handles.  I  am so glad these are done and ready for gifting.  Next up for me is getting my cards ready for the mail....  So much to do -- so little time!  What about you?  Ready for Christmas?

By the way, Doodle Pantry is having a 30% off sale (excluding gift certificates) going on now through December 24.  Now's your chance to pick up some great sets at bargain prices!

Take care and have a great day!

Beautiful Season

Hi All!  Hard to believe Christmas will be here in 2 weeks. Still lots to do... Yep, panic has set in!  How about you?

Before I head out to do some shopping, I wanted to finally post a card I made yesterday.   The image is from the Beautiful Season brush set by MDS.  I colored the image with Copics and added some sparkle to the leaves and berries with a green Spica and red Gelly Roll pens.  The layers were cut with Spellbinder dies.

Sorry for the short post, but I really need to get a move on and go play Santa.  Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a great weekend!

Williamsburg

Hi everyone, If you have been wondering why I've been MIA, it's because my husband and I went on a spur of the moment trip to Colonial Williamsburg for a few days.  It's one of my favorite places, especially during the Christmas season. The wreath above is one of many different types of decorations (all made of natural materials) that decorate the buildings.

Now it's back to reality.... It's time for me to play catch up and get ready for the holidays here at home.  I should get my act together in a day or two and be back to posting and visiting blogs to see your gorgeous creations.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying this festive time of year!

Snowy Window Scene

Good Morning, everyone.  So glad you stopped by to see what I've been up to.  Well, after seeing many cards showcasing beautiful window scenes, i was inspired to give this look a try.  For my attempt, I combined images from two Doodle Pantry digital sets -- Winter Wishes and Christmas Wreath.

The main image is from the Winter  Wishes set.  I also used a pre-colored image from the Christmas Wreath set to create a garland, which I merged on top of the fence.  Copics and glaze pens were used to color the main image.  I added glitter and silver accents (done with a Spica pen) to the snow.  IRL, there's lots of sparkle.  To finish, I embellished the 'window' with 3 button poinsettias and a bow with brad.

I also want to mention that the Doodle Pantry is one of the sponsors of  The Scrapbooking Queen Challenge #3.  The theme is Christmas and Snow.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Crazy4Challenges (C4C115)  -- Crazy for Snow
Gingerloft Challenge (GL30)  -- Christmas and Winter
Paper Sundaes Challenge #97 -- Winter Wonderland
Card Caravan Challenge #7 -- Make it Sparkle

Thank you for visiting!  Hope you have a wonderful week.

Pinecones 2

Hi all!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving and to those of you who are braving the crowds on Black Friday - good luck!.  Instead of shopping, I have been crafting and have 2 cards to share using the digital Pines and Poinsettias set from the Holly Berry Bouquet kit by MDS.  Also used some digital Frostwood Lodge DSP and a Curly Cute sentiment.

I used Photoshop to recolor the solid image.  Then I combined the image with different combinations of Spellbinder dies and DCWV patterned papers.  These were easy holiday cards that were fun to create.  Can't wait to try this image in different color combinations and designs!

Thanks for taking the time to stop.  Have a happy weekend!

CAS145 -- Merry and Bright

Hi all!  It has been ages since I played a challenge on Spiltcoast.  This is a card I made for their Clean and Simple Challenge 145 (CAS145).  The theme is Christmas-Winter.  You can find the link to the challenge here.

My digital image is from the Letters by Santa embellishments set by My Digital Studio.  The coordinating  Letters by Santa DSP is also by My Digital Studio.  I added liquid glass to the ornaments and colored the top of the ornaments with a silver Spica pen.  Talk about easy peasy!

Although I rather be playing in my craft room, I can't put it off any longer... off to tackle dust bunnies and other chores.  Take care and have a great day!

Pinecones

Happy Sunday and the start of Thanksgiving week.  Here's a card I made with the help of Card Patterns sketch 142. The digital image is from the Pinecones and Poinsettias set by My Digital Studio   The sentiment is from another MDS set called Hand-Penned Holidays.  I was able to recolor this solid image in Photoshop and also used Copics and pastels to add additional coloring and shading.  After cutting out the image/sentiment with a Spellbinders die, I covered the scallop circle with VersaMark ink; then heat embossed with clear EP mixed with dazzling diamonds.  Wish the colors didn't look so garish but sometimes my camera has a mind of its own!   I must have taken a zillion photos and this one is the best of the bad.  Grrrr...

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope everyone has a great week!

Welcome Christmas

Hi everyone!  Well I am finally back in the groove after our trip, and had some fun playing the challenges.

Anyone dreaming of a white Christmas?  Well, I am not sure I'm ready for the white stuff, but I did use a digital image and sentiment from My Digital Studio's Welcome Home set, as well as Spellbinder dies, to create a snowy scene for Christmas. This was a very easy card to create, and it's postage friendly too.  I kept my embellishments to a minimum and only included a bow made with a MS punch, some Flower Soft mixed with glitter, and I also added a bit of bling to the bow.  Although it doesn't show in the photo, my card sparkles nicely IRL.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
CCEE Stampers (CCDD1146) -- 2 diecuts or 2 punches
Fab' n' Funky Challenge #99 -- Baby, it's cold outside

Thanks for stopping by and happy crafting!

Kaitlyn's Halloween

Pilgrim Sheep

Hi everyone!  It's great to finally be back home.  I've missed all my blogging buddies and hope to visit everyone in the very near future!  We really had a wonderful visit with our son and daughter-in-law.  It was so good to spend time with them.  I must admit, however, that the drive (2200+ miles) was the pits!

Even with laundry calling, I couldn't wait to do some crafting.  So last night, I spend some time playing with Doodle Pantry's new Pilgrim Sheep Color Plus set.  This set comes with both outline and colored images as well as 6 matching digi papers.  Aren't these images the cutest!  I used the pre-colored images and one of the sentiments from this set to make my Thanksgiving card.  Yikes, hard to believe Thanksgiving is next week.  I better get a move on if I am going to get my cards finished and in the mail.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop

Welcome to Doodle Pantry's
12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop
November 5-8

Here are some larger views of the ornaments:

I am very excited to be part of the DP Blog Hop showcasing the new 12 Days of Christmas Color set.  If you arrived here from Donna's blog, you are in the right place.  If not, head on over to the Doodle Pantry Blog to start at the beginning... it's also the place where you can find the 'rules', blog list, and prize information.

While you are reading this, my hubby and I are on a road trip to Florida.  Since I won't have internet access until we reach our destination, I am keeping my fingers crossed that blogger won't have any issues, and my post went live as planned.

I used this fabulous set to create a set of ornaments with matching card.  To make the ornaments, I punched out the cardstock with my SU! ornament punch; then embossed and sanded the ornament shapes.  Before gluing the pieces together, I sandwiched an ornament hook between the front and back panels. To finish, I just had to add the images and embellishments ... Talk about easy peasy gift making!  I definitely will be making more sets as they are perfect for the small gifts/stocking stuffers we all need for holiday giving.

Aren't Laurie's images in this set the sweetest!  I think they are perfect for making all types of projects and cards.  Being that the images I used are pre-colored, it really makes creating quick and easy.  l know I will be using these fun images throughout the year for all types of cards and other projects.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have time over the next 3 days to visit all the stops along the hop.  The team has created some gorgeous creations for your viewing pleasure.  Your next stop on the hop is Amy's blog.   Have a great weekend!

Doodle Pantry Release -- 12 Days of Christmas Color

Happy Tuesday and the start of a new month.  Today's the day Doodle Pantry is releasing their new digital sets, and I am pleased to share 2 cards that showcase the new Twelve Days of Christmas Color Plus set.

For the card pictured above, I created a grid in a Word document with the help of the table function.  Then I inserted the images and sentiments before filling in the background colors.  For dimension, I used pop dots to add another layer of  individual images.  I really had fun decorating the images with glitter, bling and other accents.  IRL, my card sparkles nicely.

For my next card,  I used the partridge image, one of the sentiments, as well as one of the digi papers from the set.
Punches and dies made this card a snap to put together. Punches used: SU! ornament punch, EK circle punches. Dies used: Memory Box Crisp Bows die, and a leaf die from the Foliage Shapeabilities set by Spellbinders.  The white panel was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

To see this new set and all the other new releases, head on over to the Doodle Pantry Store.  You won't be disappointed!

Quirky Penguin

Hi everyone. Today I had some fun with Doodle Pantry's Quirky Penguin.  Isn't he the cutest!  I used one of the pre-colored images from the set.  Of course, I couldn't resist adding a Santa Hat from the Santa Accessories set.  After copying and pasting the images and sentiment into a Word document, I filled in the dotted background digitally.  After printing, the hat was colored with Copics, and white Fun Flock was added to the trim.

I fancied up the design with dies and punches .  The ornament was punched with a MS punch and embellished with dazzling diamonds and some bling.  The fancy edge on the black background layer was cut with a lattice rectangle die by Spellbinders.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Forever Friends Challenge -- Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great week!

Snowy Scene

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Gosh, October is flying by.  Less than 2 weeks before we leave on our trip.  So I thought I better get some more Christmas cards done for my stash, since there won't be any crafting while we are enjoying time with family in Florida.

For today's card, I again used the dryer sheet technique.  This time to create a sparkly snowy scene. ( You can find the SCS tutorial HERE.) .  Images used are Lovely as a Tree and Welcome Christmas by SU! for MDS.  Inspiration for today's card came from the lovely creations in the SCS gallery that combined these two sets... Thanks, everyone!  For the background layer, I dry embossed a piece of silver cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Silver metallic paste was rubbed on the surface before heat embossing with silver embossing powder.  Then, it was just a matter of layering some die cuts on top of the background and adding the image and some rhinestones.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
CHNC Challenge 43 -- Make a Scene

Have a great day and happy crafting!

Winter Wishes

Hi everyone.  Sorry it's been a while since I've posted; I think my mojo has been on vacation!   A trip to Michaels and some new goodies has put me back in the groove.

For today's card I created a frame using 2 "Fleur de Lis " square dies by Spellbinders.  Next i added a scallop circle layer.  On this layer I printed the wreath from the Bright Hopes digital set by SU! for MDS. Then, I layered a small scallop circle over the wreath before adding my sentiment.  Sentiment is from the Doodle Pantry set, Winter Wishes.  Just a punched bow and some gold dots, and this card was finished in no time.  Since this card was very easy to make, I definitely with be making more of these to add to my stash of Christmas cards!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #39 -- Use any sentiment; winter theme.
No Time to Craft Challenge 162 -- Punches and Dies
Top Tip Tuesday #56 -- Layer it Challenge and pop up card tutorial
Inspire Me Friday 29 -- Linky Party

Bright Hopes

Good Morning, everyone!  Sorry I have not posted in so long.  We have been busy enjoying visits with family and friends, celebrating birthdays, as well as our anniversary...

I finally was able to get a card made last evening.  I used a very fun and easy 'dryer sheet' technique,   Essentially, you run your image face down through a Zyron; top with a used dryer sheet; then coat and press down glitter into the surface before taping off the excess .  This technique adds lots of sparkle and a snowy look.  Wish my photo was able to capture all the sparkle.  You can find the tutorial for this technique in the resource section on Spiltcoaststampers HERE.

For the background layer, I dry embossed a piece of cherry cobbler cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Silver metallic paste was rubbed on the surface before heat embossing with silver embossing powder.  I added some small silverr dots to the tree and finished with a ribbon and silver embellishment.  I really like how this turned out and am happy to have another Christmas card to add to my stash.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Bah Humbug Challenge 40 -- Glitz and Glitter (Must be Christmas.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great week!

DPDC17 -- Maize Corn

Good Morning, everyone,  It's the fifth of the month and time for another Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC17) on the Doodle Pantry Blog. The theme is use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment).  If you don't have a Doodle Pantry image, just go to the "freebies page" and download one for free.   To view the challenge details , prize information, and to see this month's free digital image that all challenge participants will receive,  click here.

For my card, I used images from the Maize Corn set.  I merged 3 ears of corn to form a swag, and with the help of Copics colored the ears to look like Indian corn.  Then I went over my image with a VersaMark Pen and embossed with clear embossing powder.  To finish my design, I added 2 jewelry spacers, and made an embellishment for the 'corn swag' that started out a single stalk of wheat by Jolee's.  I added some hemp behind the wheat and tied the elements together with some linen thread to give it more dimension... Just had to attach it to my card and I was done.

I will also be entering my card in the following challenges:
Anything Goes Challenge #51 --  Die Cuts/Punches

Sure hope you join in the fun. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Quirky Christmas Cat

Hello again!  Just a quick post tonight to share my Quirky Christmas cat.  I combined two Doodle Pantry sets into one -- Quirky Cat  (pre-colored image) with one of the hats from Santa Accessories.  The hat was colored with Copic markers; then embellished with white glitter and a small pompom.

I mounted my image on a tag punch pinwheel made with the small SU! tag punch.  If you are not familiar with this fold, check out the great tutorial posted on  Stamp Monkeys.  The digital papers used are from two different Doodle Pantry paper packs --  Four Season Digi Paper Pack and Bold Summer Digital Paper Pack.  I printed the patterns on both sides of a single sheet of paper to create my matching double-sided DSP.  To finish my design, I added a simple corner punch embellished with a "pearl" snowflake.  Now this little guy is a wrap and ready for my stash!

Thanks so much for stopping by. Sure hope you are able to stop back on the first of October for the new Doodle Pantry release!

MMSC123 -- Bat Cat

Good Morning, everyone!  Here's my take on this week's Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC123).  For this card,  I combined digital products from two of my favorite companies. -- "priscillastyles" Store and Doodle Pantry.

The fun, digital image is from the newly released set, Bat Cat Digital Stamp set by "priscillastyles" Store.  This image was colored with Copics.  I added dazzling diamonds to the mask, and MS glitter to the chair's buttons.    The digital pattern papers are from the Birdie Bat COLOR set by Doodle Pantry.  Bat embellishments were made using 2 different MS punches.  I also used a SU! corner punch.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

MMSC122 -- Christmas Winter Skates

Good Morning, everyone.  Are you ready for another fabulous new sketch from the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge (MMSC122)... Well, today's the today and you can find the new sketch HERE.

I combined the sketch with a fabulous new digital image from the Christmas Winter Skates set by "priscillastyles" .  My image was colored with Spica pens and Copic Markers.   I embossed a sheet of  dark red shimmer cardstock from the DCWV Shimmer Stack. Then sanded the embossing  to let the white core show through.  The 'lace' background paper has been in my stash forever (sorry don't know the manufacturer's name).  To finish the vintage look, I added a lace bow and added a fancy brad.  Yay, another Christmas card done and ready for my stash!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Jingle Belles -- Happy Hybrid Holidays -- Must incorporate one digital stamp or element.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Hope you have a great day!

Birdie Bat Color

Hi everyone and a Happy Sunday to you.  Gosh September is flying by... I can't believe this month is half over.  Since Halloween will be here before you know it, I couldn't resist using the new Birdie Bat COLOR  for the Send a Smile 4 Kids Challenge that  Doodle Pantry is sponsoring this week.

The new Birdie Bat Color is a colorized version of a DP Halloween set released last year.  Pre-colored digis really make quick work of getting the job done, and I just love the digi papers that are also included with this set!  I combined the blue with traditional Halloween colors; added some punched bats; and I also added a big bow w/sentiment to finish my design.

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
Send a Smiled 4 Kids -- Halloween/Fall for kids

Funny Disguised Sheep

Hello everyone, I have been having so much fun playing with Doodle Pantry's new set, "Funny Disguises".  I merged one of the funny masks over one of Laurie's "Happy Sheep" in a Word document.  I then inserted a 'callout' shape, then added my sentiment.  What fun!

Coloring was done with Copics and I also used some pastels to create the cloud background.  Finishing touches include Flower Soft grass and my favorite embellishments, buttons.

I will be entering this card in some wonderful challenges:
Corrosive Challenge #132 -- Funny or Punny

I hope everyone has a wonderful week, and thank you for stopping by.
