Quirky Penguin

Hi everyone. Today I had some fun with Doodle Pantry's Quirky Penguin.  Isn't he the cutest!  I used one of the pre-colored images from the set.  Of course, I couldn't resist adding a Santa Hat from the Santa Accessories set.  After copying and pasting the images and sentiment into a Word document, I filled in the dotted background digitally.  After printing, the hat was colored with Copics, and white Fun Flock was added to the trim.

I fancied up the design with dies and punches .  The ornament was punched with a MS punch and embellished with dazzling diamonds and some bling.  The fancy edge on the black background layer was cut with a lattice rectangle die by Spellbinders.

Snowy Scene

Happy Sunday, everyone!  Gosh, October is flying by.  Less than 2 weeks before we leave on our trip.  So I thought I better get some more Christmas cards done for my stash, since there won't be any crafting while we are enjoying time with family in Florida.

For today's card, I again used the dryer sheet technique.  This time to create a sparkly snowy scene. ( You can find the SCS tutorial HERE.) .  Images used are Lovely as a Tree and Welcome Christmas by SU! for MDS.  Inspiration for today's card came from the lovely creations in the SCS gallery that combined these two sets... Thanks, everyone!  For the background layer, I dry embossed a piece of silver cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Silver metallic paste was rubbed on the surface before heat embossing with silver embossing powder.  Then, it was just a matter of layering some die cuts on top of the background and adding the image and some rhinestones.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
CHNC Challenge 43 -- Make a Scene

Have a great day and happy crafting!

Winter Wishes

Hi everyone.  Sorry it's been a while since I've posted; I think my mojo has been on vacation!   A trip to Michaels and some new goodies has put me back in the groove.

For today's card I created a frame using 2 "Fleur de Lis " square dies by Spellbinders.  Next i added a scallop circle layer.  On this layer I printed the wreath from the Bright Hopes digital set by SU! for MDS. Then, I layered a small scallop circle over the wreath before adding my sentiment.  Sentiment is from the Doodle Pantry set, Winter Wishes.  Just a punched bow and some gold dots, and this card was finished in no time.  Since this card was very easy to make, I definitely with be making more of these to add to my stash of Christmas cards!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments Challenge #39 -- Use any sentiment; winter theme.

Bright Hopes

Good Morning, everyone!  Sorry I have not posted in so long.  We have been busy enjoying visits with family and friends, celebrating birthdays, as well as our anniversary...

I finally was able to get a card made last evening.  I used a very fun and easy 'dryer sheet' technique,   Essentially, you run your image face down through a Zyron; top with a used dryer sheet; then coat and press down glitter into the surface before taping off the excess .  This technique adds lots of sparkle and a snowy look.  Wish my photo was able to capture all the sparkle.  You can find the tutorial for this technique in the resource section on Spiltcoaststampers HERE.

For the background layer, I dry embossed a piece of cherry cobbler cardstock with a Sizzix embossing folder.  Silver metallic paste was rubbed on the surface before heat embossing with silver embossing powder.  I added some small silverr dots to the tree and finished with a ribbon and silver embellishment.  I really like how this turned out and am happy to have another Christmas card to add to my stash.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:
Bah Humbug Challenge 40 -- Glitz and Glitter (Must be Christmas.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great week!

DPDC17 -- Maize Corn

Good Morning, everyone,  It's the fifth of the month and time for another Doodle Pantry Digital Challenge (DPDC17) on the Doodle Pantry Blog. The theme is use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment).  If you don't have a Doodle Pantry image, just go to the "freebies page" and download one for free.   To view the challenge details , prize information, and to see this month's free digital image that all challenge participants will receive,  click here.

For my card, I used images from the Maize Corn set.  I merged 3 ears of corn to form a swag, and with the help of Copics colored the ears to look like Indian corn.  Then I went over my image with a VersaMark Pen and embossed with clear embossing powder.  To finish my design, I added 2 jewelry spacers, and made an embellishment for the 'corn swag' that started out a single stalk of wheat by Jolee's.  I added some hemp behind the wheat and tied the elements together with some linen thread to give it more dimension... Just had to attach it to my card and I was done.

I will also be entering my card in the following challenges:
Anything Goes Challenge #51 --  Die Cuts/Punches

Sure hope you join in the fun. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day.

Doodle Pantry Release -- Candy Cane Ants

Happy Saturday and World Card Making Day!  Today's the day Doodle Pantry is releasing their new images for October, and I could hardly wait to share the fun new 'Candy Cane Ants' set. This set has everything you need to make Christmas creating a snap!  This set includes both color and outline images, sentiments and 2 different patterned digi papers.

For my card pictured above,  I used the outline image, one of the sentiments, and the candy cane digital paper included with this set.  I colored and shaded the image with Copic Markers.  Then I highlighted the candy cane with a Red Spica Pen.  I also added some glaze and used a Clear Star glitter pen on the cute little "mittens".  IRL, there's lots of sparkle and shine!  Of course, I couldn't resist adding some Flower Soft to make some fluffy snow!

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:
Inspire me Fridays 26 -- Linky Party
Meljens Designs Challenge #78 -- Shapes/Use a square and a circle in the same creation.
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #32 -- Any Occasion/must use ribbon
